Savnit and Rahul, Courtyard by Marriott Agra
Bright colors, standout décor and a boisterous atmosphere made Savnit and Rahul’s wedding a memorable one!
Savnit and Rahul’s nuptials at Courtyard by Marriott Agra fused warmth with elegance. Here, bride Savnit shares all that went into the planning of her wedding and special highlights from this celebration.
How we met
“Rahul and I are from Lucknow. I’ve been working as a stylist in Delhi and Mumbai and I met Rahul last year. Things progressed really fast and we decided to get married. I think I’ve been a wedding enthusiast from the day I was born and have been dreaming about my own wedding since I was 10.”
Wedding Functions
“We got married in Agra. All the functions were held at the Courtyard by Marriott, Agra and so many details of my wedding were out of my childhood scrapbook!”
Sangeet
“Our sangeet was a typical, crazy party! Fresh floral décor and warm lights lit up the entire venue. I wore a heavily embellished Monika Niddhi lehenga with jewellery from Araceli Jewellers, Lucknow – they are one of those hidden gems for excellent jewellery, no pun intended. I discovered them during my wedding preparation. Rahul wore an asymmetrical bandhgala by Kora, Mumbai.”
Mehndi
“Our mehndi was at lunch; simple and elegant, with minimal, rustic décor elements and a traditional vibe. I wore a Kiran Uttam Ghosh saree and kept the makeup minimal. Rahul coordinated his attire with mine and chose a really cool kurta and sadri.”
Haldi and Pool Party
“The haldi ceremony was an intimate affair with our close family members and friends in attendance. After getting smeared with a generous amount of haldi, we headed to the pool for a fun party. To pick an outfit for this function, I discovered a really unique designer in Shahpur Jat whose label is called ‘Rangeelo Juno Des’. I picked a color blocked lehenga for myself and a draped kurta for Rahul.”
Wedding
The setting for their wedding was breathtaking. The color scheme for the decor was red and white with a touch of gold and floral arrangements were a prominent part of the setup. “I had a déjà vu moment when I saw my wedding lehenga for the first time at Sulakshana Monga’s showroom. It was legit love at first sight. I didn’t want anything too loud yet wanted to make a statement with a few classic elements. Rahul and I both wore Soltee for the wedding. I made sure my make up was very natural. I chose a no color look and even skipped lip color.”
Advice for Couples
“I would strongly recommend every bride go as simple as they can on their wedding with their look. I believe it’s not the day you should wear everything you can afford but the day where you should look the best version of yourself. Let your inner self shine through your look!”
