California-based Sayali Kamat and Sarvesh Rangnekar embraced their roots as they tied the knot in Pune. Photographing their traditional wedding celebrations was WeddingSutra Favorite – GB Photo Film who used their expertise to the fullest to capture playful, candid moments.
How They Met
Sayali shares, “Since we’re both software engineers working in Silicon Valley, California we share a few mutual friends. And, it was one of our common friends who invited us both to dinner where we were introduced. Our conversations were so seamless and after the dinner, we kept in touch!”
Wedding Planning
Capturing their wedding celebrations was GB Photo Film who impressed the couple with their skills. The couple shares, “GB Photo Film was incredibly remarkable with the way they worked. They captured our beautiful day so magically, we were amazed when we saw the photos and videos. Thanks to them, we have beautiful memories that we can cherish for a lifetime.”
Weddings Functions
Haldi
Sayali shares, “The haldi was adorned with simple decor elements that took a cue from the Rajasthani culture. Colorful parasols and yellow blooms made the venue look cheery. Plus, everyone followed the dress code as they wore white or yellow outfits.”
Sangeet
Sayali shares, “For the sangeet we went for a ‘cocktail’ theme. The dress code was indo-western and everyone surprised us with some amazing performances on stage.”
Wedding
Sayali shares, “We had a traditional Maharashtrian wedding. The mandap was constructed indoors and adorned with white blooms. Thankfully, we also took time out to shoot a few pre-wedding shots before we made our way to the mandap.”
Reception
Sayali shares, “We hosted a reception in Mumbai where we mingled freely with our loved ones. For the reception decor, we went heavy with the floral elements as our seating backdrop consisted of a floral wall and a comfy ivory sofa.”
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Understand each other. Support each other when things get tough and be best friends first!”
