Seerat Batth and Siddharth Anantharam, Jaisalkot, Jaisalmer
The regal fort wedding saw sweeping desert vistas, minimalist decor, and colorful family moments.
Seerat Batth and Siddharth Anantharam’s simple yet stunning wedding in the historic city of Jaisalmer was steeped in grandeur and emotions, the nuances of which were captured in breathtaking detail by WeddingSutra Favorite – Dreamcatchers Photography. Watch it all unfold below.
How they met
Siddharth shares “We met more than a decade ago in the classrooms of St. Xaviers College, Mumbai. What began as a friendship, involving everyday train rides from Churchgate to Santacruz, transformed into a beautiful lifetime partnership.”
The Proposal
Siddharth shares “COVID was tough for us since it kept us physically apart in two different countries for almost 10 months. That made things abundantly clear and made me wonder – What am I really waiting for to propose to my best friend? The proposal was a beautiful surprise with friends and family that took place on a yacht over a magical sunset in front of the biggest ring in the world – the Dubai Eye!”
Wedding Planning
The couple envisioned an intimate yet vibrant wedding that was a destination affair and chose the stunning fort property of Jaisalkot in Jaisalmer. For a royal and elegant feel, they kept the decor minimal so the natural beauty of Jaisalkot and the surrounding desert could stand out. Seerat, along with her sister and mom, designed layouts for each function and carefully picked out every piece of the decor to be used from Wedding Prop Shop.
They entrusted the team of Dreamcatchers Photography to capture their special moments. They shared, “Team Dreamcatchers Photography was fantastic from start to finish. They knew exactly what we wanted as a couple and consistently over-delivered. They have the unique ability to make things happen beautifully without overwhelming the couple on the big day. They were the first people to show up each day and their dedication and commitment to capture each moment was beyond amazing. They also did a fantastic job of capturing the natural beauty of Jaisalkot, including the natural light and all the shades that come with it. We would work with the team again in a heartbeat.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
A cheerful Mehndi celebration kicked off the festivities on a lively note. Hosted on a rooftop venue with mesmerizing vistas of the surrounding desert, the occasion saw vibrant decor and moments of fun as everyone enjoyed drinks, and got their hands painted with henna. Dressed in soothing tones of sky blue, the couple, accompanied by their fur babies, were all smiles!
Sangeet
Brimming with Bollywood tadka, the Sangeet function saw high-octane revelries. Rousing music and power-packed performances were interspersed with moments of love and laughter as the couple’s loved ones shared their anecdotes with the crowd. The bride, in a unique olive green lehenga, and the groom, donning an offbeat brown bandhgala, struck a stylish pose as they laughed and danced with their friends and family.
Wedding
Hosted in a courtyard of the fort, the wedding was a tranquil celebration of love and tradition. Dressed in a chic sage green sherwani, the groom made a stylish entry with his baraat in tow and his adorable pooches in his arms, while the bride was a vision in cream and gold as she walked down the aisle. The minimalist decor softly accentuated the regal setting and offered the perfect backdrop to the couple’s traditional Sikh wedding ceremony.
Advice for couples
“The best decision we made was to do the celebrations our way – where the focus was really on celebration, connection and fun. Our advice to couples would be to ask yourself, ‘What kind of moments do you want to create at your wedding?’ Design for that and don’t forget to have fun as a couple, because that’s the real reason for celebrating in the first place.”
