Here, we bring you details from Bobby Hiranandani, son of Singapore billionaire entrepreneur Asok Hiranandani’s wedding with Shaila Tanwani at the family-owned Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa. Spanning five days, the wedding celebrations saw over 3,000 guests attending, including friends and family members who had flown into Singapore from all around the world.
Engagement
The engagement ceremony was held at the hotel’s poolside and the whole area was illuminated with blue lights. A roving drone camera captured all the action from above. Bobby wore a black suit with a vibrant ochre tie, and Shaila donned an asymmetrical tulle gown with a plunging neckline and a statement necklace with matching earrings.
Mehndi
“The mehndi ceremony included a mix of traditional and contemporary aesthetics and had a colorful floral theme. The décor was done up in shades of pink, blue and yellow that complemented the bride’s red and white floral anarkali ensemble paired with a pretty pink dupatta. Bobby wore a green kurta-pyjama set with a stole and sunglasses. The hall was resplendent with bright drapes, vibrant seating and an elegant white chaise lounge on the stage was set up for the couple who could sit and relax against the pretty cushions. Vibrant orange and pink blossoms lit up the floral arrangements that were dotted all across the hall, and hanging Moroccan lanterns added a further exotic vibe.
Sangeet
The sangeet was designed to look like a live concert. Popular Bollywood music composers such as Vishal-Shekhar and Salim-Suleiman entertained the gathering with their hit melodies that saw the bride and groom taking to the dance floor. Shaila wore a floor-length royal blue lehenga with a broad gold hem and a net jacket with gold thread work. Bobby wore an ornately embroidered sherwani with a matching stole and white trousers.
Wedding
The couple chose to wed according to traditional Sikh rituals, and hosted the auspicious ceremony at the Gurudwara Katong on the East Coast of Singapore. Shaila wore a beautiful red and gold ensemble designed by Manish Malhotra, while Bobby wore an golden sherwani with a matching ‘churidaar’ pyjamas and a safa (turban). Shaila’s statement jewellery at the wedding included a beautiful ‘maang tikka’ with multiple precious stone pendants. Her matte makeup look accentuated her bright red lips which matched her outfit perfectly.
The festivities then continued to a private dinner which was held at the Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa.
