Shaivya Agarwal and Ayush Kanojia, LP Vilas, Dehradun
A reflection of their journey and craft, this wedding planner duo's union proved that the best moments are often unplanned.
Shaivya Agarwal and Ayush Kanojia’s story came full circle after nearly a decade of friendship, partnership, and building the company they founded together. Their wedding reflected everything they believe a celebration should be: personal, immersive, thoughtfully detailed, and deeply meaningful. Planned and executed by their own team at WeddingSutra Favorite – Unik Experiences, every event was conceived as a unique experience, with each function capturing a different chapter of their journey together.

Wedding Planning
For Shaivya and Ayush, founders of Unik Experiences, designing their own wedding was unlike planning any celebration they had created before. Years of curating weddings for other couples shaped their vision, allowing them to focus not on grandeur but on creating experiences that felt authentic and emotionally resonant. Reflecting on the celebration, the couple shares, “This wedding was more than a celebration of love. It was the coming together of two people who built a life, a friendship, and a business side by side. It reflected everything we’ve learnt over the years, that what truly matters is not perfection, but experience; not extravagance, but emotion.”
The unexpected rain on the wedding day became the ultimate embodiment of that belief. Instead of seeing it as an obstacle, the team swiftly transformed the celebration indoors, turning an unforeseen moment into one of the most memorable parts of the wedding. As the couple beautifully puts it, “When the rain arrived, it became the perfect ending to our story because the wedding was never about the venue, the weather, or the décor.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi and Mehndi
The festivities began with a vibrant Haldi and Mehendi where soft shades of pink and white, fragrant mogra, floral pathways, and personalised touches created an inviting setting. Thoughtfully designed lounges, floral accents, and bespoke experiences encouraged guests to slow down, connect, and celebrate together. Rather than relying on elaborate décor, the afternoon embraced warmth and intimacy, with every detail contributing to an atmosphere filled with laughter, heartfelt moments, and effortless joy.

Sangeet
As evening fell, the venue transformed into a richly layered Moroccan-inspired setting. Shades of teal, mocha, and antique gold came together through sweeping drapes, ornate lanterns, chandeliers, rugs, candlelight, and tactile textures that created an atmosphere both vibrant and inviting. The entertainment stage formed the heart of the celebration, surrounded by thoughtfully curated lounges, statement bars, intimate dining spaces, and a dance floor that remained full throughout the night. Every detail contributed to an experience that felt immersive without being overwhelming, setting the stage for an evening of performances, dancing, and celebration.

Wedding
The wedding was envisioned as a timeless celebration rooted in tradition and spirituality. An elegant palette of ivory, gold, saffron, and subtle accents of red brought a sense of quiet sophistication to the setting, while traditional elements were interpreted with a contemporary sensibility. Just as the ceremony was about to begin, unexpected rain called for a complete change of plans. The celebration was seamlessly moved indoors, where the intimate setting brought family and friends even closer. Every ritual felt more personal, every blessing more heartfelt, and the atmosphere took on a warmth that could never have been planned. The unexpected turn of events became the defining moment of the wedding, proving that the most memorable celebrations are often the ones that embrace the unforeseen with grace.
