How they met
Sharvi shares, “In January 2022, we found ourselves in Bombay at the same time and connected on a dating app. Although we exchanged a few messages, our schedules meant we couldn’t meet before leaving the city. A few weeks later, our conversations deepened, prompting us to plan a trip. I was in London, and Vidur was in India, but our mutual interest led us to Paris. We spent a delightful weekend there in March 2022, indulging in food, drinks, and museum visits. This marked the beginning of a year-long long-distance relationship spanning cities like Singapore, Kashmir, and New York, culminating in a heartfelt proposal during a cozy winter weekend at Thyme in the Cotswolds in March 2023.”

The team of SDS Studios captured their special moments in stunning frames. The bride shares, “During such a chaotic time, it was great to have a team that always felt relaxed and on top of things. They were present in both big and small moments, and really put a lot of effort into understanding our preferences and who we are as a couple, so the essence of our wedding could be captured by their team.

Advice for couples
1. “The smaller details matter. Our guests still remember the chai station with a variety of milk at every meal, our wedding hamper with locally sourced, healthy snacks, and the bedtime gifts left in their rooms each night.

2. There’s no pressure to buy everything new. Be mindful about your purchases and look for clothes that you’ll wear again. For example, my sister wore her own bridal outfit from Anamika Khanna at my wedding, and in turn, I wore the Sabyasachi lehenga from her wedding, at my own mehndi. I was also careful to ensure that both my sangeet and reception pieces were ones that I’d love forever. This was a more sustainable approach, and it allowed me to indulge in a heavy bridal piece for the special day itself.

3. Think outside the box on how you can blend cultures. We took the best elements of our Gujarati and Punjabi traditions and integrated them into the events seamlessly. We had guests from all over the world – India, the UK, Singapore, Hong Kong, the USA, Australia, and more. Many of them loved experiencing something new, and both families felt respected.”
