How they met
Shikha Agarwal and Nischal Rungta’s lockdown love took flight on Facebook in 2020, and it didn’t take them long to know they had found the one. The couple soon broke the news to their families and got engaged as restrictions eased, and tied the knot shortly afterward.
Wedding Planning
Choosing a destination that was stunning and conveniently located for them, the couple tied the knot at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu and entrusted the planning and execution of the entire celebration to ShubhTithi weddings. Looking back on the experience, Shikha shares, “Planning a wedding in the middle of Covid was no doubt challenging, as our ideas had to be altered time and again. From adjusting to sudden changes to addressing all our concerns, ShubhTithi handled everything amazingly well. They were there for us at every step of the process and became like our family. From aerial dancers for the ring ceremony to malai toast and kulhad chai from Kolkata for all 3 days, artists from around the country, amazing decor sets, and more, they gave us the wedding of our dreams amidst rain, covid restrictions, and other challenges. Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Following home-held pre-wedding rituals, the festivities at Hyatt Regency Kathmandu started with a lively mehndi brunch. The vibrant decor of blooms and drapes added pops of blue and pink to the verdant greenery of the space as everyone mingled and had fun with a delicious spread and champagne. The bride and groom matched the decor with blue and pink attire.
Cocktail
The night followed with an eclectic mix of music and cocktails enveloped in snazzy neon decor as the couple and their friends geared up to party the night away. While the youngsters danced to their hearts’ content, the elder family members and guests enjoyed an evening of card games.
Engagement
The engagement soiree was decked with the cocktail glam decor of black and gold. Fairy lights, chandeliers, candles, plush velvet sofas, and more lit up the lush green lawns with warm elegance. The bride dazzled in a silver gown while the groom sported a chic crimson blazer as they exchanged rings to great cheers from their friends and family.
Sangeet
Whimsy and romance converged in a confluence of beautiful pastel decor for the indoor Sangeet soiree. A canopy of blooms welcomed the guests into the evening where a grand stage setup of white 3D feathers left the onlooker awestruck. The bride looked ethereal in an ivory and gold lehenga for the occasion, while the groom sported an intricately embroidered wine-hued sherwani for the occasion. The evening saw a blend of traditions and entertainment.
Haldi
The next day began with haldi rituals for the bride and groom. A minimal setup of drapes and marigolds made for the perfect backdrop to the intimate occasion. The couple and their loved ones wore yellow attires and relished a morning of loved and laughter.
Wedding
Imagined in a beautiful palette of red, white, and pinks, the wedding ceremony was a traditional affair. Sporting a pink sherwani, the groom arrived with his boisterous baraat while the bride walked in under a phoolon ki chadar that matched the decor, resplendent in quintessential red. The couple exchanged varmalas amidst sparkle galore and tied the knot surrounded by their loved ones.
