Shreya and Eshan Rastogi, Buena Vista Luxury Garden Spa Resort, Jaipur
This couple’s Jaipur destination wedding flaunted vibrant, unconventional themes that brimmed with glamour.
Shreya and Eshan Rastogi’s wedding with its unconventional setups hosted at Buena Vista Luxury Garden Spa Resort in the lap of the Aravalli Hills, was an adorable celebration of love. With loads of playful, candid and emotional moments, this wedding was a contemporary take on beloved traditions.
How They Met
Eshan shares, “We met through family and our parents introduced us. Since we are foodies, I decided to take her restaurant hopping as a first date to keep the conversation fresh and moving. From then on, we both knew there was something brewing between us since our first date lasted over six hours.”
Wedding Venue
The couple shares, “We chose Buena Vista Luxury Garden Spa Resort because of its large and spacious rooms, each room was a villa with its private pool and backyard. The property has a French owner who was gracious to our families and tended to our needs while finalising the venue for our February wedding. The property fit the bill perfectly and our guests had such a luxurious experience as the property has 50 villas!
Plus, Jaipur was a highly convenient city to travel to for our out-of-station guests from a logistical standpoint.”
Wedding Planning
Once the couple started brainstorming ideas for the wedding – one thing was certain – they wanted an unconventional celebration. Shreya shares, “From day one we told our wedding planner that this would be a non-traditional wedding. We didn’t want the traditional red and white outfits or the horse baraat. As a result, multiple mood boards and new ideas were brought to the table.”
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
Shreya shares, “Set by the poolside, our lemon-inspired Mehndi with Moroccan hints also doubled up as a welcome party! We had 35kgs of fresh lemons brought from Himachal to make up our décor elements. We had a beautiful Lemon tree and a white Vespa for our guests to pose in front of. The bar and dance floor had a lemon theme to it as well. The bar menu was customised with the theme and featured a margarita bar.”
Cocktail
Shreya shares, “The neon-themed cocktail took place inside the banquet hall. We transformed the entrance of the banquet with a fairy lights walkway. The ceiling inside featured a neon mesh ceiling, bright neon lights and an epic bar with all sorts of shots available including vodka-infused gummy bears, and liquid nitrogen hulli gulli, to name a few!”
Eshan adds, “And, while the younger generation was finalising their dance moves, we got a live singer to keep the older generation entertained until it was time for us to bust our dance moves.”
Haldi
Hosted by the poolside, the haldi had a playful vibe to it as Shrey shares, “A carpet of yellow flower petals welcomed the guests and suspended blooms in the backdrop made every picture at this event look perfect! We wore green rather than the usual yellow to stand out against the floral backdrop.”
Wedding
Shreya shares, “We had three essential needs for our wedding which we conveyed to our wedding planner beforehand – floral shower, a mirrored walkway and lots of sparkles, For everything else, we let their creativity take the lead. Eshan wore a light blue sherwani and entered the venue atop a blue vintage car. On the other hand, I wore a fuchsia lehenga with small blue flowers matching Eshan’s sherwani. My bridal entry had the song, ‘A thousand years’, playing in the background and entered under a phoolon ki chaadar. And, as planned the varmala moment was punctuated by a rose petal shower.”
Reception
Eshan shares, “ We wanted some drama as this was the last party of the wedding. Shreya and I changed our outfits and we were welcomed to the reception with sparklers. The stage featured a champagne tower and the entire setup was hosted outdoors. A tent was hoisted on the lawn with swathes of white drapes and the inside was decorated with fairy lights and chandeliers. Emotional toasts were made and the entire night was just so magical!”
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “Always communicate your wants and wishlist to the event planner.
Keep a day between your Cocktail and the wedding so that you don’t have a puffy face during the haldi and pheras.”
