Shreya and Harshil, Anantara Jewel Bagh Jaipur Hotel

Featuring an elegant palette of white with accents of copper, brass, and soft pink, this couple’s wedding phera ceremony was a serene one!

In a celebration that blended warmth with high-energy glamour, Shreya and Harshil’s wedding unfolded as a thoughtfully curated three-day affair in March. Captured by the talented team at WeddingSutra Favorite – WhatKnot, every moment was documented with spontaneity and style.

How They Met
“We are both from Mumbai, and the funniest part is that we grew up living just three minutes away from each other,” Shreya shares. “Harshil even played cricket in the building next to mine, yet we never crossed paths.” It was at Warwick University in the UK that destiny intervened. Though they pursued different courses, their friendship truly blossomed upon their return to Mumbai. What began as easy companionship gradually deepened. “We became each other’s best pals. In 2022, we realised we had feelings for each other but took a good three to four months before confessing,” she smiles. Their official first date carried the comfort of old friends. “When Harshil walked around to open the car door for me, I laughed. It was something he always did, even when we were friends.”

Wedding Planning
From the outset, photography was non-negotiable. Having witnessed WhatKnot at work during Harshil’s sister Khushboo’s wedding, the decision felt instinctive. “WhatKnot is just the best team,” Shreya says. “They’re quick, young, and their edits are amazing. We felt so comfortable posing that it felt like a group of friends having fun and clicking pictures. They are hardworking, dedicated and outstanding at what they do. I couldn’t have asked for anyone else.”

Wedding Functions
Haldi
The Haldi embraced a vibrant theme titled ‘Rangon Ki Dastein’. Orange, rust, and sunshine yellow set the palette, layered with marigolds, traditional pots, and rustic accents that lent a rooted, desi charm. The event celebrated cultural diversity, with different Indian states represented through the flow of the festivities.

Harshil made a spirited entry to an upbeat Gujarati track, while Shreya arrived with her family in Marwadi style to a celebratory folk number. The highlight, of course, was the joyous phoolon ki haldi, followed by Harshil’s kurta being gleefully torn by his closest friends.

Sangeet
If Haldi was rooted in tradition, the Sangeet was unapologetically glam. Set against a mystical night theme, midnight blue and lavender tones dominated the décor, elevated by abundant real flowers. “I love flowers and so does my dad, so we made sure every event had only real blooms, never artificial,” Shreya shares. The evening began dramatically in a pitch-dark room, with friends encircling the couple holding LED sticks as they made their entry. For the dance enthusiast duo, the night was designed around non-stop performances. From electrifying routines to their ring ceremony, followed by live percussion and a DJ set, the Sangeet delivered pure spectacle.

Carnival
For the Carnival, Shreya drew inspiration from 2025’s colour trends, choosing sage green, mint, and lavender for a modern, chic aesthetic. The décor felt fresh and playful, perfectly complementing the spirited programming curated by anchor Azhar. Interactive games kept guests engaged, while a nostalgic ‘Bachpan Ki Yaadein’ stall became an instant favourite. “It was a full-blown entertaining event with everyone bringing their A-game,” Shreya recalls.

Wedding and After Party
The wedding ceremony embraced an elegant palette of white with accents of copper, brass, diya lights, and a soft hint of pink. The ambience felt serene yet celebratory. “My mom and family welcomed Harshil with a performance,” Shreya shares. “Then came my entry, and the most special part was my nine-month-old niece Saanchi walking down the aisle before me.”

Despite knowing each other so deeply, the moment felt transformative. “The wedding felt surreal. I knew Harshil, yet I still had butterflies. He got emotional seeing me in my bridal ensemble.” At the mandap, a live band created an unforgettable moment when they surprised the couple with their favourite song, something they hadn’t included in any of their planned entries. “The minute it began playing, we looked at each other and felt goosebumps all over,” she says. The celebrations concluded with a high-energy, all-white Bollywood-tech after party. “We danced our hearts out as newlyweds,” she smiles.

Advice For Couples
“The entire process is overwhelming and exhausting,” Shreya reflects. “But every decision you make should be something you truly want, not something you’re doing for someone else. Follow your heart.” The couple also prioritised peace of mind in the final stretch. “We stopped vendor meetings 15 to 20 days before the wedding. We were available for quick checks, but most major decisions were closed well in advance. Once the celebrations begin, everything flows beautifully, so enjoy every moment to the fullest.”
