Shreya and Karam, Gurgaon
With rustic floral arches and dreamy lanterns, this couple’s wedding turned heads in an ‘all-white’ color palette with a dash of bold burgundy.
In a classic case of ‘opposites attract’, Shreya, a fun-loving and light-hearted soul tied the knot with a tenacious and strong-willed Karam, in an elegant traditional Christian wedding ceremony that reflected their charming personalities. Orchestrated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Plush Weddings, their nuptials were a feast for everyone’s eyes with its elegant decor that swept everyone off their feet.
How They Met
Shreya shares, “Karam and I met in college while we were pursuing our undergraduate courses together. Since we shared the same circle of friends, we used to hang out together a lot and soon became really good friends. But, somehow, we didn’t have any feelings for each other at the time. Honestly, during those years, we kind of had a love-hate relationship where he used to annoy me incessantly but I always knew that I had a friend in him.
Then, after one year of college, we met at my best friend’s house where we reconnected. Our first conversation lasted for hours and I think time and age worked their magic on us making us realize the affinity we had for each other. After about a month, we started dating and since then, there’s been no looking back.”
Proposal
Recollecting the details about her surprise proposal, Shreya recollects, “Initially, Karam had told me he had other plans for the proposal and cunningly sidetracked me. Unknown to me, he’d actually planned it during my parents’ Christmas Party where all our friends and family were present. All of a sudden during the party, he gathered everyone together, made a touching speech, and popped the question to me.”
Wedding Venue
Held at The Palms Town & Country Club, Gurgaon, the couple maximized the sprawling lawns to challenge their creativity. With multiple venue options, amenities, and immaculate catering services, this place was the perfect spot for them to begin a new journey together. Shreya shares, “We decide on The Palms Town & Country Club since it was just the right size for our guest list and after looking at numerous other farmhouses, I was completely taken in by this property.”
Wedding Planning
The happy bride shares, “ I think team Plush Weddings executed everything perfectly. For that one night, her creativity made us feel like we were away from the hustle and bustle of Delhi and instead, getting married at a beautiful rustic resort. My whole experience with Plush Weddings has been phenomenal and they understood my brief from the first go itself. They did an outstanding job and I would recommend them to everyone without hesitation!”
Ruchika Arora Bansal from Plush Weddings shares her thoughts on the decor and planning, “The first time I was contacted by Shreya’s mom, we sat together and discussed the concept she had in mind for her daughter’s wedding, post which, I prepared the vision board for the wedding after studying Shreya’s dress carefully. We coordinated smoothly as they placed their trust completely on us and we unanimously selected an all-white color story with a dash of burgundy and plenty of green foliage. As it was a day wedding followed by an evening reception, we decided to cover the lawn with over 350 white paper lamps made by a local craftsman. Another highlight of the wedding was the 12-foot-high wooden cross we had organized for the ceremony that was used in place of an arch to incorporate Christian faith, and also in the memory of Shreya’s late grandmother who had always envisioned the same. We were under a lot of pressure since many of the invitees had never been to a Christian wedding before, but I think that we pulled it off successfully, all thanks to the entire team, and not to mention, the absolute trust which the couple and their families bestowed on us.”
Adding to the dream team, were photographers from Twogether Studios who captured every expressive moment in stunning shots. Also, ensuring that the bride looked flawless on her big day, was Makeup by Ruhin who worked her magic on Shreya to highlight her natural beauty.

Shreya and Karam’s big day was a magnificent ceremony, aptly peppered with plenty of flowers in shades of white, peach and burgundy, making it look something out of a fairytale with its delicate golden chairs, pristine white gazebos, and graceful floral arches. The bride made a stunning entrance accompanied by her dad as she walked under the graceful arches and was greeted by Karam who waited with a radiant smile at the end of the aisle.
Glowing in a pristine white gown with sheer lace sleeves and intricate embroidery, Shreya looked stunning as she took her vows. Accessorized with a diamond-encrusted tiara and bangles, her look reflected her bubbly personality. Looking dapper in his grey three-piece suit, Karam added a pop of color to his outfit with a red tie.
Reception
Held at the same venue under the dark night sky, the reception was a dazzling affair that glowed brightly thanks to the plethora of locally sourced lanterns especially handcrafted for the occasion. The evening was kickstarted as Shreya and Karam cut a magnificent cake together and later took to the dancefloor for their first waltz as man and wife.
The couple later changed for the festivities, with Shreya choosing a light pink, embroidered lehenga and Karam opting for a navy-blue suit with a printed cravat.
