Shreya and Rahul, The JaiBagh Palace, Jaipur
A chance meeting that blossomed into a beautiful relationship, was celebrated with a grand wedding in Jaipur.
Rahul and Shreya’s paths crossed for the first time in Mumbai, when a mutual friend introduced them to each other. Rahul, a media expert based out of Dubai, and Shreya, a celebrity stylist and a designer from Jaipur, say that it was love at first sight for the both of them.
They felt sparks fly the moment their eyes locked. Eight months into being in a relationship, Rahul put a ring on it. The duo recently got married in Jaipur, where WeddingSutra Favorite – Gunjan Singhal Designs, created a beautiful experience for the bride and groom, planning and executing all the wedding functions wonderfully.
Wedding Venue
Shreya says, “I had always dreamt of a palace wedding, so Udaipur and Jaipur were my top picks. Jaipur seemed to be a convenient destination for all our guests from Chennai, Dubai and Mumbai. We chose the JaiBagh Palace as the wedding venue because it was the perfect property for guests to enjoy all the events. We wanted the wedding to be a staycation for them.”
Wedding Functions
Mehendi
Their mehndi was a breezy function by the poolside. The couple, with the help of Gunjan Singhal Designs, kept the vibe fun through colorful decor, with drapes, bright flowers and hangings adorning the venue. The bride’s lime green sharara from her own label, Shopviolla, shone bright in the sunlight, while the handsome groom wore a smart-looking printed Nehru jacket.
Sangeet
For the sangeet, Shreya and Rahul chose white roses and pink and purple lights to decorate the courtyard of the palace, keeping the venue looking ethereal and elegant. The backdrop designed for the dance stage made use of colored LED lights, adding pizzazz to the performances. Shreya wore a gorgeous embroidered lehenga by Malasa in hot pink, while Rahul donned an embroidered black achkan by Shyamal and Bhumika.
Wedding
The wedding was a grand affair. The front courtyard of the palace looked straight out of a fairytale, with red roses, candles, lamps and soft yellow lights illuminating the area.
Shreya looked mesmerizing in a bright red lehenga with a gold and champagne-hued dupatta by Shyamal and Bhumika. She paired her outfit with a kundan haathphool. The groom complemented her in an embroidered sherwani by Carma India. The happy bride says, “There is a growing trend of pastel bridal wear, but there’s something about the classic red lehenga that is so charming – that will never fade.” She ditched the usual choice of sky-high stilettos, opting for comfortable wedges with embroidery instead.
The couple spent a few days in Male, Seychelles, right after their wedding for a much-needed, relaxing honeymoon. There they took romantic bike rides together while exploring the island, went scuba diving and devoured delectable dishes.
