Shubhika Gupta and Ashutosh Bansal began a new chapter in their lives that was indeed romantic and brimming with adorable family moments! They celebrated in the sunny month of March with a stunning union at The Gateway Resort Damdama Lake where they reveled in luxury and took in the bounties of nature. Planning their gorgeous wedding was WeddingSutra Favorite – Riwaaz-e-Rishte who with their expert skills put the couple at ease and gave them and their loved ones an unforgettable wedding!
How They Met
Shubhika shares, “We were introduced via a mutual relative in an arranged marriage setup. I did not even know what Ashutosh looked like, and our first date was a blind date from my side. One date led to another and we knew that we were meant to be together!”
Wedding Venue
When it comes to a wedding, the venue plays a pivotal role and it was no different for Shubhika and Ashutosh who began scouting for the perfect venue despite the pandemic wreaking havoc with their plans. However, once things settled down, they selected The Gateway Resort Damdama Lake, Gurgaon which was everything they’d hoped for! A happy bride shares, “We had previously gone through numerous venues. But the moment we came across The Gateway Resort Damdama Lake, we were enchanted. Not only was the property luxurious but it was surrounded by natural beauty which gave our wedding a refreshing vibe. Plus the hospitality was unbeatable which was a must for us during the pandemic.”
Wedding Planning
Gushing about her planning team, Shubhika shares, “The experience with Riwaaz-e-Rishte and their entire team was genuinely amazing as they always had our back. They left no stone unturned when it came to managing all the guests at the hotel and also made sure that all the events happened timely without any glitches. They provided shadows to not just us but also the family members who really needed a helping hand around the clock. The best part about them was that they were so meticulous!”
Weddings Functions
Haldi and Mehndi
The Haldi and Mehndi event followed an all-yellow and white theme. The guests dressed up in these respective colors as well to honor the occasion! For a pleasing traditional look, marigold blooms were used generously across the décor, and the Phoolon ki Holi added an extra dash of fun to the celebrations!
Sangeet and Sufi Night
The venue was adorned with heavy green drapes, gold hues and glimmering chandeliers. Shaamdans and candles cast a soft glow across the venue and accentuated the theme of the night. Adding an authentic touch to the proceedings were Dervish dancers and live Sufi singers who enchanted the guests.
Wedding
Swathed in delicate hues of pink under the bright rays of the setting sun, the couple’s open-air Wedding looked dreamy. The floating mandap stole everyone’s breath away with its whimsical elements atop the water body and cast a clear reflection on the water. The bride shares, “The pheras were conducted by a team of more than 21 brahmins specially called from Vrindavan, and the occasion was graced by the presence of Pujya Shri Pundrik Goswami Ji Maharaj. The aura was further heightened by a team of talented musicians. On the flute we had Atul Krishan, and on the sitar we had Bhagirath Bhatt.”
Reception
Following the Wedding was glitzy Reception where everyone let their hair down as they reveled in the club-like ambience. With the DJ playing chart toppers all night long everyone had a gala time as they celebrated the beginning of Shubhika and Ashutosh’s happily ever after.

The couple shares, “Hire a good wedding planner. Thanks to Riwaaz-e-Rishte, our wedding journey was a smooth one as all we had to do was sit back, relax and enjoy the festivities as they had it all covered!”
