How they met
Simarna shares, “They say timing is everything when it comes to love! I met Akhil through mutual friends just before I was about to leave Canada, and felt an instant connection. Little did they know that our aunt had once tried to set us up a few years ago! However, we are eternally grateful that we met when we did, and that things unfolded organically the way they were supposed to, because it showed us that our paths were destined to cross!”

Wedding Planning
“70-80% of our guests traveled to attend our wedding, so the stay experience, ambiance, and hospitality of our venue were of utmost importance to us. Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Hosted at the beautiful sea-facing venue of Kino Cottage, the Mehndi soiree was a whimsical affair full of beautiful floral decor with arches, lush foliage, and lanterns. Pampas grass, painted crates, etc added a bohemian flare to the occasion, while elements like monogrammed coasters added a personal touch. The bride and groom sported soft pastel tones to match the romantic mood of the function.

Welcome Lunch
The couple hosted a lively lunch at The Lalit Mumbai to welcome their guests. Music and merriment reigned supreme as families from both sides met and mingled in a casual, laidback setting, accompanied by some delicious fare. The bride kept it chic with a mint co-ord set, while the groom wore a simple beige kurta.

Sangeet
Imagined in a rich yet elegant palette of vintage red, the muted glamor of Simarna and Akhil’s Sangeet function set a mystical ambiance for a night of music and dance as everyone showed their skills on the stage and dance floor. The bride and groom matched the mood with riveting ensembles of midnight blue. Magical performances, grand cake-cutting, and non-stop entertainment made the evening unforgettable for the couple and their guests.

Haldi
If traditional marigolds are too passe for you, take a cue from Akhil’s colorful Haldi soiree. Brightly hued drapes and flowers lit up the occasion with their energy, while a wall of origami paper art made for a vibrant and creative backdrop to the ceremony. Sporting a red kurta, Akhil was doused in turmeric and showered with love and blessings by his friends and family.

Wedding
With all the pomp and splendor of the Big Fat Indian wedding, Simarna and Akhil’s nuptials were as grand as could be. Framed against the lush lawns of The Lalit Mumbai, the decor was replete with exotic blooms, sparklers, and a whole lot more, setting an ambiance of modern royalty. The bride channeled her inner queen as she entered astride a magnificent peacock-shaped palki, before exchanging garlands and taking her vows with her beau amidst loud cheers.

The newlyweds celebrated their union with a rousing afterparty, where they danced the night away with their friends and family.
