Taking their friendship of a lifetime to the next level, Smita Shivaji Patil and Sahil Mithbavkar celebrated their journey of love with a magnificent yet intimate wedding celebration. How They Met
Old friends Smita and Sahil got closer and discovered that they were in love when Sahil visited Singapore for business research, and Smita who was studying there at the time showed him around. Over dinners and drives they felt a deep connection they had never experienced before. This continued to blossom over video calls and texts. On his next trip, Sahil confessed his feelings to Smita and they decided to take their love to the next level and get hitched!
Wedding Planning
The couple chose the seafront beauty and lush landscape of Taj Lands End, Mumbai to host their intimate nuptials which were planned and executed by Reshme Saigal Weddings. They entrusted the team of Happyframes to capture their special moments. Smita shares, “We had very little time to plan our wedding and we are eternally grateful to have found the perfect photography team in such a short time. They were kind, helpful, and a dream to work with as they patiently answered all our doubts making us most comfortable, and they shot our pictures exactly the way we wanted them. They delivered great work, and we highly recommend them.”

The couple tied the knot in two ceremonies. Held during the day, the Maharashtrian ceremony saw tranquil traditional décor infused with brass elements, flowers, and foliage. The bride opted for a rich velvet nauvari saree in emerald green, an auspicious color in Maharashtrian culture, while the groom donned a classic ivory Jodhpuri suit as they tied the knot under a canopy of leaves and a stunning crystal chandelier.
The evening festivities were bedecked with a confluence of dainty pink blooms, fairy lights, and candles setting a romantic ambience for this wedding under the stars. The elegant evening affair saw a beautiful minimalistic mandap and an alfresco seating, the highlight of which was a dreamy dinner set up inside the tunnel of fairy lights. An unusual choice for an evening wedding, the bride turned heads in a vibrant yellow lehenga, and the groom complimented her with a sky blue sherwani and a yellow safa to match.
Reception
Grand yet intimate, the wedding reception was a stately affair with rich jewel-toned décor. Shimmering fairy lights, crystal chandeliers, long candles and billowing drapes added a glowing warmth to the evening. Dressed in a stunning golden saree and a black tuxedo respectively, the couple stepped into their festivities amidst smoke and fireworks. Sumptuous dining, speeches, and performances made the evening memorable.
