Sparshika Kothambare and Rushikesh Nitin Jagtap, Monteria Resort, Maharashtra
This couple’s traditional Maharashtrian wedding attire and phera ceremony were vintage, regal and awe-inspiring!
Adhering to their roots while showcasing their love for contemporary aesthetics, Sparshika Kothambare and Rushikesh Nitin Jagtap’s union was grand. Spanning three days and hosting almost a thousand guests, the wedding celebrations were hosted at Monteria Resort nestled amidst the Sahyadri Hills in Maharashtra.
How They Met
Sparshika shares, “We met through our mutual friend. We’d been talking on Instagram for a while and hadn’t gotten a chance to meet since I live in Mumbai and he is based in Pune. One day he surprised me by visiting Mumbai and we planned a day out. We dated for a couple of years before we took the plunge.”
The Proposal
Wedding Venue
Sparshika shares, “We had a Maharashtrian wedding where the guest list featured more than a thousand people. The Monteria Resort was huge, perfect for a three-day wedding with such a guest list. Everything went well due to the organized team at the venue. The vast venue spaces also ensured we could be at our creative best and accommodate everyone’s needs. Both our families loved it! The in-house wedding planner was also impressive.”
Wedding Planning
Weddings are about creating cherished memories and it was no different for Sparshika and Rushikesh. Fortunately, Sparshika had already seen Click Vick Photography and Films in action at her friend’s wedding and was keen on getting them onboard for her big day slated in May. The happy bride shares, “I had previously witnessed their work during one of my friends’ weddings and was highly impressed. Hence, I chose them for my wedding. Their videography was also brilliant.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Adorned with pops of colors and blooms, the mehndi ceremony was a vibrant one. A floral arch adorned the bridal seating area and the couple made a dashing entry with their loved ones holding up sparklers to welcome them.
Ring Ceremony
Sangeet
The sangeet was a glamorous occasion where everyone took turns on the stage to put their best foot forward. Hosted under the starlit sky, the colossal stage with its LED backdrop had everyone in the mood to party. Confetti blasts and group performances by family members kept the energy high till the wee hours of the night!
Haldi
Merging traditional decor elements with contemporary ones, the haldi featured several playful moments. Seated in brass urlis, the couple was slathered in a turmeric mixture to get their wedding glow on. Meanwhile, a backdrop of lush green banana leaves and suspended white blooms made everything look picture-perfect.
Wedding
Sparshika shares, “Since we’re both Maharashtrians, we wanted to embrace our culture completely at the phera ceremony. I wore a ‘nauvari’ saree with zari work while Rushikesh donned a dhoti-kurta set with a turban. We’re immensely proud of our roots and wanted to honor it on this special day by showcasing our vibrant traditions. My jewellery followed a traditional route as well with a pearl nathni, a thushi necklace along with several other pearl jewels.
Advice For Couples
The bride shares, “Start planning your wedding as soon as possible. For brides, especially, the jewellery and the bridal outfits should be first on the priority list. Next are the themes, the venues and the decor. Please get a wedding planner on board as they take the stress off you! Have a shadow who helps you at every step of the way.”
