Sugandha Kumar Kalra and Karthik Kalra’s wedding was an absolute stunner with its mix of colorful elements. With each event trumping the other when it came to style, this wedding was seamlessly planned and decorated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Nazara. Behind the lens was WeddingSutra Favorite – Delhi Velvet who captured eye-catching shots of the couple as they tied the knot!

How They Met
Sugandha shares, “Karthik and I are from the same school but the first time we connected with each other was online, post which we switched to telephonic conversations that further led to dates. We’ve been together for more than 12 years now which has included long-distance to live-in.”

Wedding Planning
Sugandha shares, “A perfect wedding for us was all about celebrating our love for each other. We wanted everyone to party non-stop and take back all the fond memories from our wedding.” Ensuring that everything looked exactly like the couple had imagined and more, was Nazara who spearheaded the planning for the entire wedding and decor of the Haldi. The bride shares, “We were scouting for a wedding planner and luckily we came across Nazara! Their entire team is very creative and possesses a keen eye for detail. They came up with innovative ideas and solutions at every stage of the nuptials. Everyone was in awe of the decor at the Haldi and Wedding. Team Nazara did a wonderful job in ensuring that everything went as planned.”

For photography, the duo got Delhi Velvet on board who used their creativity behind the lens to the fullest by clicking some dynamic shots, some candids as well as stylish portraits. Be it the Haldi shenanigans or the grandeur of the Wedding, everything was artfully captured by them.

Weddings Functions
Engagement
Kicking off the festivities in a glamorous manner, everyone stepped up the style quotient at this event. With a monochrome pathway and thousands of fairy lights adorning the archways, the entry to the party inspired awe while the couple had a gala time taking the dancefloor by storm! Plus, a live band ensured that everyone was at their grooviest best throughout the night. Additionally, personalized menus curated by the bride and the planning team had everyone reaching out for second helpings.

Mehndi
Swathed in soft rose hues and accentuated by bright blooms, the Mehndi decor was themed around bohemian romance. While the bride got comfy on the sofa against the backdrop of macramé tassels to get henna painted on her hands and feet, the groom mingled with their loved ones. Moreover, the guests were treated with macramé favors, a personalized menu and coconut water to wash it down.

Chooda
The bride shares, “I always wanted to wear my mother’s wedding outfit at one of my own wedding events. Since I’m very close to her I wanted to carry her legacy of love and make it a part of my wedding journey. I chose to wear her wedding dupatta which is almost 30 years old at my Chooda ceremony. It is the most beautiful piece of clothing that I now own and I felt beautiful wearing it.”

Haldi
Hosted at both the bride and groom’s respective homes, the Haldi was a fun-filled occasion. For Sugandha’s Haldi, quirky colors dominated the decor along with elements like brass urlis inside which Sugandha sat during the rituals flanked by marigolds.

For Karthik’s Haldi, the decor includes various hues of yellow and white drapes from which the sun played peek-a-boo. Marigold garlands swayed in the wind while lush foliage added a dash of contrast.

Wedding
Regal and contemporary, the wedding exuded a sense of serenity. With a Buddha statue, sleekly designed candelabras, a customized phoolon ki chadar and LED candles flickering softly, their union inspired awe with its thoughtful decor. Surrounded by a heavy canopy of trees, their wedding mandap was lit up by crystal chandeliers that bathed everyone in a golden glow. A phera essential corner equipped with bells, rose petal cones and ‘leave a wish’ book kept the guests engaged. Also, with the chiming of the bells and chants during the phere, the entire venue resembled a fairyland with a dreamy aura.
