Tanisha Narang and Noah London, Trident, Mumbai

Fusing two cultures seamlessly against Mumbai’s coastline, this couple’s wedding was rich in vivid hues and timeless traditions.

Tanisha Narang and Noah London’s fusion wedding unfolded as a unique Hindu and Jewish celebration set against Mumbai’s coastline, bringing together two traditions with balance. Planned and produced by WeddingSutra Favourite – Niché Events, the wedding was shaped by a cohesive creative vision, resulting in celebrations that felt intentional and rooted in both cultures.

How They Met
Tanisha was born and raised in Mumbai, while Noah grew up in New York. She works in e-commerce and brand management, and he is in commercial property insurance. They met in 2017 at Syracuse University through mutual friends and quickly formed a close bond. Long conversations, shared routines, and easy companionship defined their early relationship.

The Proposal
Noah planned the proposal as a surprise, telling Tanisha they were travelling upstate for his grandfather’s 98th birthday. Once there, he led her to a quiet lake on his family’s private golf course. On the 13th hole, on the 13th of May, he proposed with no one else around!

Wedding Planning
When the US-based couple connected with Niché Events on Instagram, their destination was still undecided. What was clear was that Mumbai felt like home to both families. With five to six months to plan left to the wedding in June and coordination spanning time zones, the process began remotely, focusing on clarity, structure, and alignment. “This wedding required balance,” shares Priyal Mehta, founder of Niche Events. “We aimed to respect both traditions equally while creating a seamless experience that felt considered at every stage.”
The team managed the wedding end-to-end, from venue selection to detailed design planning. Mood boards, layouts, and styling directions were created for each function, allowing the celebrations to follow a clear visual progression. The bride’s strong sense of detail helped streamline decisions and kept the process focused. The wedding included a Mehendi, Sangeet, Jewish wedding ceremony, Hindu wedding ceremony, and a reception-style after-party. A key responsibility was integrating Jewish and Hindu rituals with accuracy and sensitivity. Customs such as the ketubah signing, bedeken, and breaking of the glass were carefully coordinated alongside Hindu ceremonies, ensuring each tradition was honoured correctly. “Planning a Jewish Hindu wedding comes with layered logistical and cultural considerations,” Priyal adds. “Working across continents and tight timelines pushed us to be highly structured and adaptable.”

Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The Mehendi followed an ‘Ethereal Floral Garden’ theme. Set during golden hour overlooking the sea, the space featured bright pinks, purples, blues, and greens. Florals were styled with woven baskets to create a relaxed, garden-like feel. A seasonal mango cart added a casual touch, while interactive stations such as ‘potli making’, custom perfumes, and tarot readings encouraged guests to move through the space. The couple made a lively dhol-led entrance that set the tone for the celebrations.

Sangeet
The Sangeet shifted into a darker, more energetic setting. Lighting and decor were designed to support performances and dancing, keeping the focus on music and movement. The evening maintained a steady pace, with cocktails, performances, and a instant photo booth keeping guests engaged throughout.

Hindu Wedding
The Hindu wedding morning began with live flute music. Pink tones defined the decor and were echoed in the couple’s off-white outfits. Personalisation was introduced through a customised newspaper titled ‘The London Times’, featuring the couple’s story, games, and crosswords, adding a light element to the ceremony.

Jewish Wedding
The Jewish wedding began with the ketubah signing, followed by the bedeken, where Noah veiled Tanisha in a deeply emotional moment. The chuppah was styled in a restrained palette of blue and white, softly illuminated with candlelight, creating a setting that felt serene and timeless. “Standing under the chuppah with Noah, surrounded by family and friends, felt incredibly grounding,” Tanisha shared. “We wanted to honour tradition while keeping the ceremony intimate and heartfelt.”

The bride circled the groom seven times during the hafakot, echoing the pheras, followed by kiddushin and the sheva brachot, where voices of loved ones filled the space with meaning. Under a tallit, the couple received blessings, culminating in the breaking of the glass, a powerful reminder of life’s fragility and shared commitment.

Reflecting on the experience, Tanisha adds, “Participating in these rituals together felt like connecting not just our lives, but generations before us. The bedeken was especially emotional for me. Watching Noah approach and veil me was deeply symbolic. For our families and guests, many of whom were unfamiliar with these traditions, it became a shared and moving celebration.”
