Tanishka and Shivansh, Taj Aravali Resort & Spa, Udaipur
A boho-chic rooftop mehndi, a citrus-inspired haldi and a stunning floral phera ceremony - this couple’s destination wedding was a vibrant celebration.
A perfect combination of glamour, modern aesthetics and traditional Indian wedding elements – Tanishka and Shivansh’s union was a reflection of their unique globally influenced perspectives. Planned by WeddingSutra Favourite – Phoenix Event Media Group, this destination wedding was a vibrant one and completely in tandem with the couple’s tastes.
How They Met
Tanishka shares, “Shivansh and I first crossed paths, 8 years ago at a mutual family friend’s function in Indore in November 2015. However, our reunion in 2016 for college in Mumbai truly sparked something magical that quickly grew into an inseparable friendship. Before long, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Despite being miles apart while he was pursuing his undergrad in New Zealand, we made it through. Now, we are married and couldn’t be happier!”
The Proposal
Recollecting her surprise proposal, Tanishka says, “On August 21st, 2023, Shivansh surprised me with the most magical proposal on Tower Bridge, London. I must say, he outdid himself and gave me the proposal of my dreams. To my surprise, he had been planning this for a year – coordinating with my parents, getting me the most stunning ring, finding the perfect location, and the photographer.
We were in London for a vacation and were heading out for lunch at The Ivy Tower Bridge. What was supposed to be a casual lunch date turned out to be the most beautiful surprise. He went down on one knee and proposed. Of course, I was completely overwhelmed and had to take a minute to compose myself. When I saw the ring, I loved it instantly. I’m quite picky, so I was amazed he’d gotten it so right. Of course, I said ‘yes!’.”
Wedding Planning
Planning the couple’s wedding was Phoenix Event Media Group who impressed the duo with their proactiveness and understanding. The couple shares, “Thanks to Phoenix Event Media Group’s expertise, our wedding celebrations ran smoothly, allowing us to relax and enjoy every moment without worrying about a thing. Their professionalism and dedication were truly exceptional, from the moment we started planning, they understood our vision and made sure every aspect of the day reflected who we are as a couple. We couldn’t have asked for a better wedding planner!”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Bride Tanishka shares, “The mehndi celebration was my personal favourite with its ‘boho-chic’ theme. Stunning floral installations and a relaxed eclectic setup had everyone comfy as they got their hands patterned with henna. Dream Catchers, macramé hangings, and colourful drapes set the perfect bohemian vibe.”
Sangeet
“The sangeet also doubled up as a cocktail celebration underneath the stars. It was a glamorous night that flaunted opulent decor with shimmering gold and silver accents. Spectacular lighting and glitzy decor put everyone in the mood to party and groove!”, shares the bride.
Haldi
After a series of energetic celebrations, the couple decided to keep the haldi a breezy one with a slow pace and breezy hues. Blues, white and yellow were artistically interspersed throughout the venue. Decor elements, like citrus fruits and marigold flowers adorned the space to create a lively and refreshing atmosphere.”
Wedding
The couple shares, “It was dreamy, magical and phenomenal! Set under a beautiful canopy, our sundowner wedding was glitzy. The tables and corners were adorned with the prettiest white flowers. For the wedding day, the dress code for the guests was ‘shades of green’ and it blended perfectly well with the decor along with the lush greens of Aravalli Hills. Pampas grass, gypsos, and white blooms created an elegant atmosphere for the vows.”
Reception – Sufi Theme
The reception night followed a Sufi theme and was named ‘Sheesh Mahal’. The couple opted for a mix of ivory mirror work elements and white-green floral arrangements. True to its theme, the evening exuded a mystical and spiritual ambience with its soft lighting, lanterns and sheer drapes.
