Wedding Planning
To celebrate the union of these two incredible people and their families, the team of BAQAA Glamour Weddings & Events, led by founder Rachna Chadha who has set new benchmarks for Indian weddings in Dubai, was taken on board. Instrumental in launching the concept of Big Fat Indian destination weddings in the UAE, she added another feather to their cap with her detailed planning and turnkey solutions in design, decor, entertainment, food and beverage curation for orchestrating the first-ever grand Indian baraat and wedding at the Armani Hotel Dubai at Burj Khalifa.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The festivities kicked off with a vibrant Mehndi at the bride’s family home. Guests were greeted by an entrance sign with a special poetry written by the founder and designer of the planning company, Rachna Chadha. Flowers, fabrics and props of every color filled the space with abundant joy which resonated in the music, laughter and dancing. Regal looking sap-green velvet drapes, yellow marigold flower strings, the bridal swing and special Mehndi singers from India set a memorable fusion atmosphere as the bride got her hands painted with henna.
Sangeet
Hosted at the Address Marina, the Sangeet had a modern Moroccan theme. The captivating walkway emanated a warm, romantic vibe to the glamorous night of love and dancing. The Moorish architecture was recreated with hand painted Ogee arches and royal drapes in ivory, while antique gold vases, candle holders, lamps, and chandeliers added a mystical look. Dressed in fiery red, the bride made a jaw dropping entrance with costumed dancers, while the groom stunned in a dapper black ensemble. The night was witness to fabulous performances.
Wedding
In a first for the Armani Hotel, the wedding saw a big, fat, Indian baraat, grand entries for the bride and groom, and a spectacular sunset ceremony against the beguiling Dubai skyline. The modern pastel décor was imbibed with pops of red and tangerine for a lovely traditional touch. A tunnel of magnolia trees, fresh revival pink orchid strings, foliage and hanging champagne gold lamps welcomed the guests into the dreamy venue. A golden frame with the initials of the bride and groom in soft pastel petals led to the most mesmeric looking mandap with hanging hydrangea petal strings, laced flower chandeliers, regal yet feminine.
The groom entered with a traditional horse entry, dholwalas and all the fanfare synonymous with Indian weddings. The endearing entry of the bride with her brother under a transparent umbrella with pastel flowers brought tears to everyone’s eyes.
Reception
The wedding was followed by a grand formal reception at the same venue. As the guests changed into their evening gowns, curtains of fairy lights transformed the looming walls of the venue, along with the trees and the bushes that were adorned with candles, while the mandap stage was converted into an elegant reception stage all ready for an evening of dancing. Live entertainment, special effects and a grand culinary experience by Armani made the night memorable for guests. Another first for the wedding was the special presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum who came in to bless the couple.
