Thailand-based Twinkle Khurana merrily infused her love for the beauty and warmth of the tropical paradise into her vibrant wedding celebrations with Karan Behl. Brimming with rousing entertainment, personal touches and riveting themes, their festivities were colorful and peppy!
How They Met
Twinkle Khurana, Managing Director of The Palayana Hua Hin, Miss T Cafe and The Yana Villas, crossed paths with Wedding Planner Karan Behl 5 years ago at a family event that was being handled by him. The duo felt an instant connection and dated for two and a half years before deciding to take the plunge with the blessings of Twinkle’s father and a promise ring with which Karan pledged his love. After the many challenges of the Pandemic, they finally tied the knot with a stunning wedding and festivities in Thailand.
Wedding Venue
Twinkle shares, “All of our festivities were held across various venues in Thailand. From cityscapes to the coastal beach beauty of the country, we made the most of the different scenic properties and backdrops on offer. We got married at the Gurdwara in Bangkok because it was the most symbolic place for me while growing up. For the Reception, we chose the stylish property of Avani+Riverside Bangkok Hotel for the fond memories, as I grew up right next to it. The post-wedding parties were hosted by my resorts, with the Sundowner and Comedy Night held at The Palayana Hua Hin and Carnival at Miss T Cafe.”
Wedding Planning
The wedding festivities were planned to perfection by the team of Divine Events, and executed by Design by PeeraPach. The team of Koro Films captured clicks of all their special moments in gorgeous frames.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The colorful Mehndi celebration was hosted at the rooftop of Avani+Riverside Bangkok Hotel. Bright citrus hues lit up the chic minimalistic ethos of the space for a stunning contrast. The bridal seating was enveloped in a plush arrangement of orange and yellow blooms, while attractive Rangoli made from marigolds flanked the floor. Khushboo Grewal set a lively mood with her melodious tunes as everyone unwound and enjoyed.
Wedding
The Anand Karaj saw whimsical decor of spring blooms that beautifully decorated the Bangkok Gurudwara. The Sikh ceremony was followed by the Hindu traditions of Jaimala, Sindoor, and Mangalsutra. The groom opted for an elegant blush pink sherwani, which the bride complemented in an unusual ‘Tradition meets modern pastels’ ensemble of blush pink and red. Twinkle shares, “Using my mom’s wedding dupatta as the palla in our phere made it all the more special. The fact that it had once been put by my grandmother on my mom’s head for her ceremony made me feel connected to them in my heart, and I would carry the memory of that with me forever.”
Reception
Ravishing red decor and splendorous festivities ruled the Grand Reception function. Decadent floral arrangements brimming with red blooms, drapes and chandeliers set a regal atmosphere for the night of revelries which was taken to the next level with an unforgettable performance by the musical legend Rahat Fateh Ali Khan.
Sundowner
The celebrations in Hua Hin kicked off with an eclectic beach Sundowner at The Palayana. The peppy decor of white and pink set an electric mood, replete with exotic blooms, colored pampas grass and more. The stage featured the trending ‘hand heart’ installation as an apt backdrop to a rousing evening of performances by the amazing Sukhbir.
Carnival
The carnival function at the oceanfront Miss T Cafe was an explosion of colors and enjoyment, complete with multicolored decor and endless activities to entertain the guests. Life-sized games, a mechanical bull, favor stations with fans and parasols, refreshing coconut ice cream, fun cocktails, a live drawing station, stunning photo corners and more, made the evening totally unforgettable. The bride’s custom-made outfit embroidered with things close to her heart made for a special touch.
Comedy Night and Barbeque
Brimming with vibrant colors, tropical decadence and endless laughter, the comedy night and barbeque at The Palayana brought the wedding to a spectacular close. Lush exotic greens framed an explosion of colorful flowers and ferns, while textures and prints added to the liveliness of the decor. Guests enjoyed the comedic acts of Jaspreet Singh and Abhijeet Ganguli while feasting on sumptuous barbeques. Additionally, a fiery hashtag display of the couple on the beach made for a unique sight.
