Vaishakhi and Harsh were high school best friends who started dating in university. Their love story entered a new phase when they got married in Goa. WeddingSutra Favorite- Aash Studio curated the wedding decor and planning flawlessly. Here, the bride Vaishakhi shares some highlights of the celebrations.
How They Met
“Harsh and I first met in high school. We were both paired as bench partners, and to be honest, I found him quite annoying at first. However, over time we became best friends. Once we entered university, sparks flew and we started dating while pursuing our degrees in the US.”
The Proposal
With a romantic proposal that ticked all the right boxes, Harsh put a ring on Vaishakhi’s finger at the Taj Bekal Resort and Spa, Kerala. She recalls, “Harsh gave me the excuse that one of his friends had got a couple of free nights at the Taj Bekal Resort and Spa, in Kerala, and insisted that we all accompany him. I happily agreed, but once we reached there none of our friends were present. Pleasantly surprised, I was led by him to experience one of the most romantic evenings of my life where he had ordered all my favorite dishes for our dinner.”
Wedding Venue
For their nuptials, the couple chose the sprawling Grand Hyatt Goa with its vast lawns and luxurious interiors. The spacious venue by the sea made it a perfect place for the guests to enjoy the breezy spirit of Goa while celebrating their entry into matrimony.
Wedding Planning
Taking a break from work to focus her energy on her upcoming nuptials, Vaishakhi took over the planning of the festivities with the help of Aash Studio, while Harsh shared her load by taking charge of the food. “For the wedding planning, I was always keen on Aash Studio and placed my complete trust in Aashna who organized everything just the way Harsh and I had envisioned. Working with her was a brilliant experience, and her vision and creativity are incomparable.” For her makeup and hair, Vaishakhi chose Tanvi Chemburkar and Deepa who she’s worked with, in the past. The Studio Beunique team was booked to capture the spirited and sentimental moments of the wedding in beguiling frames.
Weddings Functions
Sundowner Party
Held on the sandy beach of Cidade De Goa, the sundowner party was a casual affair where guests enjoyed mingling in the salty sea breeze and played with the waves. With comfortable seating arrangements, decorative light bulbs, and an open bar, the evening was filled with laughter and banter.
Mehndi
The mehndi had a distinctly peppy and feminine vibe with its multi-hued canopies and wall hangings. Quirky decor elements included food stalls, candy jars, and rustic accents. Dressed in a mustard yellow lehenga, Vaishakhi glowed under the late afternoon sun with her sunglasses on. Keeping her company was Harsh who looked cool in his white kurta set with a cherry print jacket.
Cocktail
High on the glamor, the cocktail gala was held in a spacious ballroom of the hotel. The floral theme was also dominant here, but the hues used were much darker with rich purples and blues creating a striking impact. The lush foliage made for the perfect backdrop for the couple to pose against, while the golden bulbs bathed them in a soft glow. Looking elegant in her off white lehenga, Vaishakhi made her entrance at the event alongside Harsh who looked dapper in a black bandhgala suit with geometric patterns.
Wedding
Making full use of the stunning beachside lawn, Vaishakhi and Harsh tied the knot in an open-air mandap under the blue sky. The duo exchanged garlands at the golden hour during sunset. Teeming with shades of lilac and magenta, the decor at the ceremony stood out in lovely contrast against the sky and the green lawn. For her big day, Vaishakhi chose a delicate dusty rose lehenga with floral motifs, and Harsh complemented her in his white sherwani paired with a rosy pink shawl.
