Fusing two cultures with nuance and intent, and layered with a modern design lens, this wedding felt both rooted and refreshingly contemporary.

Vaishnavi and Nirav Shobhawat’s wedding was a thoughtfully curated celebration that balanced cultural depth with understated elegance. Planned and executed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Koncepts Events & Wedding Planners, the festivities reflected a clear focus on personal details, seamless flow, and meaningful moments. Every element was designed to feel intentional and rooted in the couple’s story.

Wedding Planning
The planning journey centred on creating clearly defined atmospheres for each function while maintaining continuity across the celebrations. Koncepts Events & Wedding Planners worked closely with the couple to map out the sequence, décor direction, and guest experience. “We wanted each event to unfold naturally, without excess, allowing the emotions and rituals to take precedence,” explains Harsh Sukhani.

Wedding Functions
Sangeet
The sangeet décor was inspired by the bride’s fondness for starry-night themes. Set under the open sky, the venue was styled with twinkling fairy lights across the ceiling and entrance. Shimmering elements added depth, resulting in a setting that felt calm and immersive.
The couple made their entry with dry ice and sparkles and the evening featured performances by both families, including a surprise performance by the groom and a classical dance number by the bride. A distinctive addition was a stargazing activity, where guests used a telescope to view planets and constellations. Reflecting on the concept, Harsh Sukhani notes, “It was about creating an experience that guests could participate in, not just observe.”

Wedding
The wedding ceremony seamlessly blended Maharashtrian and Marwadi traditions. The celebrations began with a lively baraat swagat, followed by the toran bandhayi. The groom was welcomed onto the stage to the beats of Puneri dhol, setting an energetic tone. The bride’s mother and family performed the ‘Lazim’ that added Maharashtrian vibrancy to the proceedings.

A light-hearted moment followed when the groom was invited to recite a Ukhana (a fun Marathi tradition where the bride and groom incorporate each other’s names into short humorous couplets). The ceremony concluded with a flower shower, leading into an emotional milni and swagat. The mandap was set beneath a large tree and styled in a Lucknowi-inspired white and gold palette. Minimal yet detailed, the décor allowed the rituals to remain the focal point, lending the ceremony a sense of calm, grace, and quiet richness. As Harsh reflects, “The intention was to let the traditions speak for themselves, supported by décor that felt timeless and restrained.”
