Varuni Khosla and Viraj Dev Nijhara, 1AQ, Delhi
Transforming a majestic tree into their wedding mandap, this couple’s wedding was elegant and earthy.
Business news journalist at Mint, Varuni Khosla and entrepreneur Viraj Dev Nijhara’s wedding was deeply rooted in tradition. Designed by WeddingSutra Favorite – Yuna Weddings and Events, this union flaunted unique design ideas, which in turn, resulted in picture-perfect memories.
Wedding Planning
Varuni shares, “The pandemic made us push our wedding date exactly by one month. Naturally, we had to alter the guest list for the March wedding and whittle it down to the people who mattered the most to us. In retrospect, I think this made us set our priorities straight. We hosted a few functions in my beloved paternal grandparents’ home after which we hosted a cocktail party.”
And when it came to ensuring the wedding looked just as dreamy as the couple had imagined, Yuna Weddings and Events was at its creative best! Varuni shares, “Yuna Weddings and Events was helpful as well as innovative. When we first visited the wedding venue, they were brimming with decor ideas. Their perspective is truly unique and they did such a splendid job. In fact, it was so memorable that our loved ones still enquire about who did it!”
Wedding Functions
Cocktail Party
After the pre-wedding festivities, the groom hosted a ‘black moustache’ themed home-based cocktail party where there were around 200 guests in attendance. Punctuated by groovy beats, fairy lights and quirky props, this event was a fun one!
Wedding
For the wedding, everything had to be absolutely perfect. To bring their vision to life, the bride along with her team in tow made several visits to the venue. Varuni shares, “After many scouting sessions we had zeroed in on the perfect wedding venue. But that wasn’t it. I was keen on having a decor story that was unique and fortunately, my dream came true! We decorated a grand old tree at the venue with mogra flowers and fairy lights and this setup became our phere backdrop. Plus, everyone got a clear view of the ceremony as they sat comfily on their plush chairs around the tree.”
