After more than a decade’s journey of friendship and courting each other, Vidhi and Ishaan Bhatia marked the start of their new chapter with a vibrant coastal wedding. A beautiful blend of flawless décor, fun moments and heartfelt emotions, their festivities were planned and executed to perfection by WeddingSutra Favorite – Events & Wedding Experiences.
How they met
Friends for the longest time, the duo’s paths have been crossing for the past 15 years. However, it was five years ago that they felt an instant connection as they encountered each other at a mall. From then on, there was no stopping as their friendship blossomed into love. And, when Ishaan caught Vidhi off guard as he confessed his love to her on a surprise trip, they started dating formally.
Wedding Planning
The couple entrusted the team of Events & Wedding Experiences to pull off their dream wedding. Talking about their experience, they shared “We were thrilled at how well Nikhil and his team dealt with each and every thing. Our priority was for our guests to have the greatest time, and sure enough, our families and guests had nothing but appreciation for their team. He flawlessly planned the décor and themes, and always had a plan B for every situation. Whether it was last minute changes due to the weather, or anything else, they never let that get in the way of our guests enjoying themselves”.
Wedding Functions
Welcome Lunch and Mehndi
A lively welcome lunch and mehndi hosted by the poolside and overlooking the ocean, warmly welcomed guests to the wedding festivities. Quirky décor in a vibrant palette of blues, pinks and orange filled the occasion with a youthful exuberance as everyone danced, played games and relished yummy food. The groom opted for a floral white Bandi and kurta set, while the bride looked radiant in a yellow lehenga.
Sangeet
The glitz and glam of Bollywood was brought to life for the Sangeet function. A tunnel of marquee lights led to the stunning event that saw shimmering décor in red and gold. The night saw beautifully choreographed dances performed by the couple and their loved ones accompanied by grooving music and handcrafted cocktails that kept the party going on into the wee hours.
Haldi
The haldi function saw charming traditional marigold décor and joyful rituals as the couple’s loved ones gathered to smear them with turmeric paste. The highlight was the ornately carved swing for the couple to sit on which was decked with gorgeous floral décor.
Wedding and Reception
The bride and groom tied the knot in a quaint wedding ceremony that sported an enchanted garden themed decor. The warmly lit, pastel festivities were topped by a canopy of whimsical flower clouds and foliage scattered with lamps and chandeliers that cast a magical air. The couple opted for auspicious shades of white, gold and red for the occasion. An all-woman instrument band mesmerized the crowd with their melodies.
Advice for couples
“It’s the biggest day of your life, so plan as much as you can, and enjoy it to the hilt. Everyone will have an opinion, but always remember that it’s your celebration above all”.
