Vidhi Mehta and Kartik Pawani, Hotel Sahara Star, Mumbai
Striking a fine balance between glamour and tradition, this couple’s wedding mandap was swathed in delicate white and fuschia hues.
Vidhi Mehta, a professional dancer and Kartik Pawani’s wedding was an ode to their love for tradition while retaining the sleek aspects of modern Indian weddings. Planned by WeddingSutra Favorite – Centre Point Events, this wedding was glamorous to the hilt!
How They Met
Vidhi and Kartik shared the same college but never got the chance to interact with each other in it. However, as time flew by, Vidhi caught Kartik’s eye and he approached her online. From then on, there was no stopping them as they became fast friends and then went to be life partners.
The Proposal
Kartik surprised Vidhi by proposing to her during their pre-wedding photoshoot in Oman. As they were shooting, Kartik asked her to change her look. Baffled, Vidhi found a beautiful dress ready for her. She was also blindfolded and taken to a cliffside. And, the moment the blindfold was taken off, Kartik popped the question!
Wedding Planning
The couple shares, “Working with Centre Point Events was truly amazing and they made our dream a reality. They were attentive, easy to work with and professional. They provided anything and everything we needed. The guests were seamlessly handled by them and we had nothing to do, except relax!
A team of 25 and more event coordinators & managers were involved in the massive 3-day celebrations. They made our wedding look beautiful and gave us more than we expected! We will definitely be reaching out to them for all our future events.”
Weddings Functions
Haldi and Mehndi
Vidhi shares, “It was an intimate affair with only close friends and family in attendance. With yellow and orange marigolds and a mehndi green dress code, the event was colorful, flowery and peppy!”
Sangeet
Nikhil Murarka from Centre Point Events shares, “The Sangeet Night had a glamorous vibe. The couple entered with dancers flanking them. A geometric patterned high-low stage paired with an electrifying LED backdrop ensured everyone was energized! A personalized photo booth was installed with a 360-degree camera, with lush greens and ambient lights which highlighted the couple’s wedding hashtag.”
Wedding
Nikhil shares, “The wedding started with the baraat with dholis and the groom entering the venue in his Maybach car. The varmala stage was set up in the center between the guests and the moment they exchanged garlands, the couple was showered with roses.
A band of musicians were placed on a separate stage and they sang beautiful Gujarati traditional songs. Next, the bride walked down the aisle under a baby’s breath-laden phoolon ki chadar with her mom and dad. The marriage followed Gujarati traditions and to make it look desi and colorful, we added traditional matkas in the decor.”
Reception
Nikhil shares, “The reception was elegant with the bride and groom making an entry to soft music playing in the background. They then proceeded to mingle with their loved ones which was followed by a grand dinner where toasts were raised for a lifetime of happiness.”
Advice For Couples
The couple shares, “The most important step would be to get a good wedding planner which would design and implement magic the way Centre Point Events did! You can then enjoy your moments to the fullest on the most important day of your life.”
