Vidhi Parikh and Deep Sanghavi, Trident Hotel Udaipur
This couple took the unconventional route with a Japanese-themed outdoor haldi adorned with sunflowers.
Interior Designer Vidhi Parikh and entrepreneur Deep Sanghavi’s destination wedding in Udaipur was an expression of the couple’s individual personalities. Experimenting with off-beat, the wedding was planned seamlessly by WeddingSutra Favorite – Events By Krunal Parekh.
Wedding Planning
Planning a wedding is not a simple feat – it requires a clarity of vision which, thankfully, the couple had in plenty. The duo shares, “We need the decor to be simple, elegant yet impactful. We wanted to play with strong visuals, structures and experiences that our guests would reminisce about and also should relate to us as a couple. Realistically, we didn’t expect it to be this stellar! We were in for a treat as the planning team at Events By Krunal Parekh curated a series of fun events that ensured we had a gala time. Right from the sneaker painting activity in the mehndi to the grand varmala – each location was carefully selected. Both our hobbies were also incorporated into the decor and the guests took back some really awesome favors, like, custom-painted sneakers and block-printed scarves.”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Expressing the groom’s love for sneakers, the mehndi was a vibrant event with a sneaker painting session that was an absolute hit. On the other hand, the bride’s love for design via block printing was also represented at the event. The couple shares, “We didn’t get to paint our sneakers. The sneakers were painted and lifted! By the time we could reach the sneaker stall, it was all gone! Every single size. All guests loved showcasing their creativity and we also had a few wearing these sneakers at the after-party.”
Sangeet
Exuding a glamorous tropical jungle-like vibe, the sangeet was lit up with a plethora of lights that dazzled under the night sky at the Croquet Lawn. Elaborate floral setups, LED trees and an entranceway with fairy lights awed the guests as they danced the night away.
Haldi
The haldi, hosted on the Central Lawn, was far from the conventional all-yellow haldi one usually sees at weddings as the couple shares, “The mix of Japanese umbrellas with sunflowers and the ‘Saranghae’ photo booth had everyone posing like a couple in a K-Drama.”
Wedding
The duo shares, “The wedding was everything we’d dreamed of, as in, simple yet impactful. The thikri work mandap, the fireworks and the way the entire property was decked up took our breath away. In fact, those in attendance still reminisce about it!”
