Vinita and Devansh, Kovalam
From Kathakali and Kalaripayattu artists to the famous girl band Silver strings, this couple’s wedding saw a dazzling blend of local and contemporary performances.
Vinita Bhandari and Devansh Mansingka embarked upon their new life journey together with a memorable 3-day wedding celebration at the beautiful coastal town of Kovalam, Kerala. Framed against the beguiling blues of the Arabian Sea, their special moments were captured in breathtaking beauty by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Salad.
How they met
The bride shares, “We were introduced by our families and met in a traditional arranged marriage set up. However, from the moment we met, we felt an instantaneous sense of comfort and connection that felt like a great foundation to build a partnership and marriage on. Also, I must say Devansh’s sense of humor sped things up!
Wedding Planning
Hosted at the beautiful oceanfront The Raviz, Kovalam, the wedding was an intimate celebration with just close friends and family, and the functions were designed with minimal décor to make the most of the natural beauty of the spot. To capture their moments, they roped in the talented team of The Wedding Salad. The bride shares, “All the pictures came out beautiful, and the team was a bundle of energy! I have to give a special mention to Kanishka Sonthalia. She was absolutely fabulous, and I would highly recommend everyone to consider her for their special occasions”.
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
The 3-day celebrations kicked off with a festive welcome dinner with great food, music and mingling. The bride gave a stunning performance on the piano for the evening. She wore an elegant lavender gown by ‘Jade by Monica and Karishma’, while the groom kept it classy with a Giorgio Armani suit.
Kumkum/Bhaat
The traditional Kumkum and Bhaat function saw a sunny décor of marigolds and other bright blooms that enhanced the natural greenery of the venue. The couple looked enchanting in demure hues of blush pink for the occasion.
Sangeet
The Sangeet was a night of glamour and enjoyment. The couple and their loved ones set the stage on fire with their grooving performances, while the band Silver Strings elevated the energy of the function to another level. The bride dazzled in a pale blue and red lehenga by Manish Malhotra while the groom looked dapper in a black Shantanu and Nikhil outfit.
Fiesta
The third day started on an exciting note with a vibrant fiesta! Brightly colored décor lit up the lush outdoor setting while spectacular traditional performances by Kathakali dancers and Kalaripayattu artists added to the magic of the occasion. Scrumptious street food added to the vibe and the fiesta mood. The bride wore a lively blue outfit with feather detailing by Ridhi Mehra.
Wedding
The nuptials were held in a beautiful floral mandap framed against the pristine waters of the Arabian Sea. Dainty hues of ivory, peach and pink set a tranquil décor amidst the coastal greenery of the venue. Vinita looked every bit the quintessential bride in a rich red lehenga by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, and was perfectly complemented by Devansh who wore a cream and gold sherwani by the same designer.
Morning Pooja
The wedding was followed by a post wedding morning pooja, after which the newly-weds engaged in customary wedding games surrounded by their happy families. The bride looked radiant in a yellow and fuchsia ensemble by Gopi Vaid, while the groom donned an ice-blue kurta by Anita Dongre.
