Vrusti and Sanket, Mumbai

Real-estate heiress Vrusti Kanakia's Mumbai wedding to Sanket Mehta included 10 days of celebrations that were high on tradition & opulence!

Their mothers, who are good friends, had a key role to play in this couple’s journey from that first phone call to the grand wedding. The 10-day celebrations saw bride Vrusti, daughter of Himanshu Kanakia of the Kanakia Group, and groom Sanket and their families hosting various events in Mumbai. WeddingSutra Favorite – VV Weddings planned the multiple lavish festivities to perfection, and all the precious moments were captured in flawless frames by WeddingSutra Favorite – The Wedding Salad.

How They Met
The Mumbai-based couple was introduced to each other by their mothers. The two ladies first met each other through a mutual friend and quickly became close. Before long, they realized that they both were looking for the perfect partner for their oldest children. After an exchange of numbers, Sanket kicked off the conversation with Vrusti, and from there on, there was no looking back. Messages soon turned into hours of non-stop chatting on the phone as they bonded over shared values and life goals. Eventually, they got the opportunity to meet in person in London, and it only took that one date to know without a doubt that they had found their soulmates in each other.

Wedding Venues
The couple’s big, fabulous Indian wedding consisted of 10 joyous events, spanning 10 days and multiple venues in Mumbai. The Grand Ballroom at ITC Maratha played host to the spectacular sangeet, while JW Marriott Mumbai Sahar was the setting for the beguiling wedding. The expansive grounds of the Royal Western India Turf Club in Mahalaxmi provided perfect backdrops for the grand reception. The rest of the functions were held at the Courtyard by Marriott Mumbai International Airport.

Wedding Planning
The team of VV Weddings was entrusted to plan and execute the magnificent festivities. The bride shares, “Our experience with them from the very start to the finish was absolutely flawless. They seamlessly integrated with our vision, our family and our events and executed them in a manner that was beyond our expectations.”

The couple chose the talented team of The Wedding Salad. Blending into the festivities of all t0 functions, they captured each fleeting moment in gorgeous frames, freezing them for the couple and their families to enjoy for all eternity. National decorators executed the stunning setups for the sangeet and the wedding, and the bespoke outfits for the bride and groom were created by Smithasha.
