Honeymoon Planning
Our honeymoon was in October 2024, a magical 12-day journey brimming with cherished moments. We selected Japan for its ideal mix of adventure and exploration. This unconventional choice enabled us to delve into a new culture while deepening our connection as a couple. As an arranged match, this trip was a fantastic opportunity to forge lasting memories and enhance our relationship. Although we contemplated Zanzibar, France, and the Maldives, Japan stood out with its lively culture, unique experiences, and breathtaking Fall scenery in October.
Honeymoon highlights
Our honeymoon in Japan was a blend of vibrant city life and serene retreats, with each location providing its own distinct charm. In Tokyo, we immersed ourselves in the vibrant atmosphere of Shinjuku, while Kyoto offered us a serene escape in a traditional Ryokan-style retreat. We savored the excitement of Osaka, conveniently located near the lively Dotonbori district, and returned to Tokyo for our final days before heading to Mumbai. These are just a few of the incredible places we visited during our honeymoon in Japan.
Tokyo: We wandered through the city on foot, taking advantage of the seamless railway system, and marveled at landmarks such as the Tokyo Tower Sky Observatory, Asakusa Temple, Shibuya Crossing, Mt. Fuji, and DisneySea. Along the way, we stumbled upon charming hidden spots, soaking in the city’s unique beauty.
Kyoto: We explored everything from the enchanting Arashiyama Bamboo Grove to the stunning Gucci Cosmos Exhibit at the Kyoto City Kyocera Museum. In the Gion district, we met authentic Geishas and savored the most delightful Matcha ice cream. A day trip to Nara, an exciting night of bar hopping, and a late-night visit to Japanese McDonald’s created unforgettable memories.
Osaka: Our visit to Osaka revolved around discovering the vibrant Dotonbori, the majestic Osaka Castle, and the bustling Shinsaibashi-Suji Shopping Street, all while indulging in delicious street food under the night sky.
Most romantic moment
Choosing a single romantic moment from our honeymoon is a challenge, as it was the countless small gestures that made it unforgettable! One standout was Ranjeev’s enthusiastic agreement to Japan as our destination, excited to discover a new culture together. Another cherished memory was when he surprised me with flowers on our second day in Kyoto, which brightened my spirits when I was feeling low. What truly moved me was his suggestion for a post-wedding photoshoot in Tokyo – a beautiful way to commemorate the start of our journey. His unwavering patience with my planning and constant support throughout made every moment even more special.
Advice to couples
Go with an open mind and the mindset of an explorer. Everything is so tempting, so be ready to shop! Expect to walk 25-30k steps every day, but don’t stress about it, just enjoy the adventure. Japan is an extremely advanced country that is very easy to navigate. Take at least 15 days to truly explore, because a week is simply not enough, even just for Tokyo!
