Kaajol and Nikkhil, Finland
Freezing temperatures, icy bars and the Northern Lights in Finland spelt warm romance for this couple on their honeymoon.
They attended the same college but surprisingly their paths never crossed. However, a little nudge from destiny saw Kaajol and Nikkhil tying the knot in Jodhpur, Rajasthan. Here, Kaajol shares some highlights of the honeymoon where she and Nikkhil made wonderful memories to last a lifetime.

“Since I’m a snow bunny who absolutely loves the winter season and the concept of Santa Claus, Finland was an obvious choice for me. Furthermore, marveling at the Northern Lights was on both our bucket lists! We had also considered Norway initially, but in the end, we picked Finland.”
Honeymoon Highlights
“To start off the trip, we visited the Santa Claus Village, the reindeer farms and husky parks. Finally, we took the Northern Lights hunting tour in Rovaniemi where they took us right in the middle of the frozen lake. And as we sat under a clear sky, we looked up and could also see the Aurora, and luckily enough, it was the strongest one in the last three years. It was, arguably, one of the most beautiful sights I’ve ever beheld.”

“We had an absolutely delicious meal at the Aurora Restaurant in Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort East Village which is known for its glass igloo bar.”
Most Romantic Moment
“Watching the Northern Lights while lying on a frozen lake at -18°C was the most romantic part of the trip. I don’t think both of us will ever experience anything remotely close to it again in our lifetime. It was a magical experience indeed, as both of us lay next to each other and witnessed a beautiful phenomenon.”

“Seeing the Northern Lights, visiting the Igloo Resorts and the Ice Hotel experience should definitely be on your list. Also, the husky safari is essential for all dog lovers!”

“Since winter sees heavy snowfall in Finland, I’d recommend to ladies to leave their heels behind and investin a pair of sturdy and warm shoes instead.”

“Don’t leave bookings for the last minute. Many of the best resorts get sold out very quickly, so it’s important that you plan things out thoroughly and have your bookings in place.”
