Nikita and Aditya, Ohio
This couple beat the odds to orchestrate a stunning traditional wedding adorned with pastel-hued roses and gold elements.
Nikita Tandon Agarwal and Aditya Agarwal sensed a strong attraction from the first moment they interacted. Unhindered by the miles between them and the pandemic that forced them to change their plans, this couple’s love has weathered every storm. Simple, elegant, and intimate, their wedding was a treat for the eyes with its subtle decor that highlighted the love this duo has for each other.
How They Met
Nikita shares, “Aditya owns a very successful business in Mumbai while I am a tax accountant in Cincinnati. Both of us first crossed paths during our undergrad at Miami University where we met through mutual friends, and we hit it off instantly! We were inseparable but we both had to eventually part ways as Aditya moved back to Mumbai. However, we did manage to conquer the miles by managing a long-distance relationship for three years, although these relationships can be challenging especially with the pandemic sweeping across the globe. But luckily, we tied the knot against all odds and are now looking forward to spending happy times together!”
Wedding Planning
As the COVID -19 pandemic spread across the globe and the lockdown was enforced, the duo’s wedding plans were scattered. But determined to tie the knot, they overcame every obstacle to orchestrate a stunning intimate wedding. The bride shares, “Our wedding was originally slated to be hosted in Mumbai but due to the travel restriction enforced during the lockdown, we were compelled to change our plans. In the end, we decided to have the wedding in my hometown and somehow, we put together a wedding in under two months!
Since safety was our topmost priority, we hosted the wedding at a spacious venue that offered good ventilation. And luckily, we found the perfect venue at Manor House. Another challenge that I faced was finding the perfect lehenga and wedding garlands in New Jersey! There were only a couple of vendors in the USA with very limited options, and with the pandemic restrictions not many vendors from India could ship these items to me.
But overall, now that I look back, the wedding was simple and yet perfect! The sun shone through the walls on our wedding day and lit the whole place up beautifully. I couldn’t have asked for more.”
To ensure that their vision came to life, the couple roped in seasoned vendors who’d guide them through the labyrinth of tasks. In their wedding squad, they included photographer Bambino International along with planner, event designer, and decorator B3 Event Management LLC and hair and makeup artist Nina Khan.
Weddings Functions
Haldi and Mehndi
Nikita shares, “Around two weeks from the wedding, we had to cancel all our plans and shorten the guest list. However, despite the change of plans, my family and I managed to execute a beautiful home-based Haldi and Mehndi ceremony. Aided by my sister who took charge of the decorations, the event was stunning in its simplicity. Throughout the week, we celebrated the pre-wedding rituals with our immediate family who flew in from Mumbai.”
Wedding
“For the big day, we decided to go all out in order to make the event a memorable one. Our bridesmaids and groomsmen walked down the aisle before us after which we had a small close-knit ceremony. The day then ended with a delicious lunch, a playful cake cutting ceremony, and our first dance where we were cheered on by our families. Above all, we had great fun clicking pictures with all our loved ones.” shares the happy bride. Brimming with delicate floral arrangements and gold elements the wedding exuded elegance as it basked under the November sun.
