How We Met
“Rajiv and I went to the same medical school but he’d already completed his studies just as I was starting. Fast forward two years and I found myself in the company of my best friend and a charming man she’d invited for lunch. We went our own separate ways after that and even though we met time and again, we never exchanged numbers or pursued anything further.
In 2014, the universe decided enough was enough. It was my best friend’s birthday and this time, we actually traded numbers and Rajiv asked me to coffee the following weekend. We spent every weekend since together and were engaged in 9 months. We got married the following year.”

“We decided to get married at the Jersey City Hyatt overlooking the Hudson River and NYC skyline. This was a very sentimental venue for us as Rajiv had also proposed to me while sailing down the Hudson River.”

The couple hosted their wedding ceremony in the elegant outdoors of the Hyatt Regency. Bright vibrant colors, posies of fresh flowers and candles were common motifs from one event to the next. A custom floral mandap was created with the NYC skyline as an unusual backdrop – a modern day fairy tale, its pillars festooned with flowers, pink draped canopy and gorgeous ‘chandelier’ contrasting against the concrete highrises behind.
The bride wore a heavily embellished lehenga in deep coral that beautifully complemented Rajiv’s red sherwani. The bridal makeup look was matte and dewy and makeup artist Tamanna ensured the bride’s natural bridal glow lasted all through the celebrations.
Reception
For their reception, they went all out with a floral setup and an impressive decorated table. A sense of warmth and elegance were the highlights of the decor. Popular singer Manj Musik from RDB flew all the way from Dubai as a surprise for the guests and family. DJ Raj Minocha was the perfect DJ, keeping the crowd engaged and smiling!
The bride wore a heavily embellished gold lehenga perfectly in tune with Rajiv’s blue tuxedo. The evening resonated with cheer, bonhomie and the laughter and love of the gorgeous couple and their family and friends.
