How We Met
“Hersh and I met nine years ago at chartered accountancy classes which we both attended, and we started dating soon after. While professionally we both went different ways, our relationship made us inseparable. We are both very similar, yet different in our ways and that’s probably the reason that makes us click.”
Wedding Functions
Engagement
“Our engagement was an intimate get-together for which I wanted a very simple yet elegant look. I wore an outfit designed by my husband’s close family friend who has a boutique in Bangkok. It was a simple pink and silver outfit. I accessorized it with polki jewellery. Misha Vig was in charge of my engagement makeup, and she did a great job by giving me a fresh and dewy look. My hair was done by Reba Khan. The engagement theme was pink and white, and everything was executed beautifully by the in-house vendor who was provided to us by the venue management.”
Mehndi
“Hersh and I had separate mehndi functions. However, he surprised me by showing up at my function late at night. For this event, I wore a bright yellow anarkali that was in line with the cheery vibe of the function’s vibrant decor. To go with my outfit, I opted for floral jewellery along with jadau ‘chand baali’ (moon-shaped) earrings. I did my makeup for this event myself because I was unwilling to sit in the parlor for hours again! I went with a minimalistic look complete with a braid that was adorned with a ‘gajra’ (garland of jasmine blooms).”
Wedding
“Our wedding was held at The The Taj Mahal Hotel on Mansingh Road. I wanted a very traditional look for my wedding. So I decided to go with a creation by Tarun Tahiliani. I picked an ombre lehenga that featured three different shades. I fell in love with its multiple tones and paired it with jadau jewellery along with a long traditional Rajasthani necklace called ‘Tevta.’ My makeup and hair were done by Anu Kaushik who made me look so natural and gorgeous. I can hardly express what a wonderful job she did. The decor was planned according to my lehenga. We used the same shades and added white flowers to the mix to lend a sense of elegance.”
Reception
“The reception was held at The Leela Ambience Gurugram Hotel & Residences. I wore an off-white Sabyasachi saree and paired it with heirloom jewellery gifted to me by my mother-in-law. My makeup was done by Jasmeet Kapany. I wanted a typical Sabyasachi look with smoky black eyes and nude lips. My hair was done by Gaurav Chawla who created a glamorous look for me exactly as I wanted.”
