How They Met
Anisha and Arjun’s story started in 2018 after Anisha slid into his DMs. And, after a week of messaging each other consistently, the couple decided to go out on a date which marked the beginning of their relationship.
The Proposal
Originally, Arjun planned to whisk Anisha away to Kyoto in Japan, a country he spent much of his childhood in. Unfortunately, his proposal plans were foiled due to the pandemic. After much contemplation, he surprised her with a wedding proposal in Amagansett, New York when they were on a vacation.
Wedding Venue
After many hours of research and a recce trip, they finally decided to host their celebrations at Mandarin Oriental in Bodrum which is a beautiful beach city with a stunning view of the Aegean Sea.
Wedding Planning
After brainstorming and researching Anisha along with her wedding squad decided to select outfits that would resonate with her events. And, after much deliberation, Anisha carefully handpicked outfits from trusted designers whose work she’s always admired. Additionally, the bride also took a cue from the venue and ensured that her ensembles would resonate with the spirit of the location.
Weddings Functions
Day at the beach
Kicking off the first day of the celebrations was a day by the beach that Anisha spent with her close friends. Donning a blush-colored bikini with a fringed off-white wrap, Anisha looked beach ready yet bridal at the same time.
Welcome Party
Keen on standing out against the green decor and wearing something that would flow with the breeze, Anisha chose an off-white dress with gold accents. With a pleated skirt and green jewellery, her look exuded old-school Hollywood glamour which was accentuated by her side parted wavy hairstyle.
Mehndi
For her own mehndi session before the formal mehndi party, Anisha chose to opt for comfort as well as style with a lightweight custom-made emerald green lehenga from designer Avni Bhuva with gold threadwork on the skirt. She kept the makeup simple and her hair fuss-free as she got henna patterned on her palms.
As for the formal mehndi event where even more guests were present, the bride decided to amp up the glamour levels with a silver and grey embellished lehenga from Shantanu & Nikhil that was customized for her. Keeping her hair pulled back in a ponytail with nude makeup, Anisha looked stunning under the bright Turkish sun.
Sangeet
In order to stand out against the bright citrus-themed decor of the sangeet, Anisha chose a deep blue gown with heavy silver threadwork. Embellished with modern motifs, this outfit was perfect for the evening filled with revelry while her lightweight layered necklace kept her comfortable as she shook a leg with her bridesmaids.
Vidhi
For the vidhi ceremony, Anisha chose two outfits. The first one was a Jayanti Reddy ensemble with a red lehenga and a navy blue choli. With intricate silver, the outfit looked perfectly in sync with the decor whereas the punchy red lehenga stood out against the azure hue of the water.
Haldi
For the Haldi ceremony, Anisha opted for a quick outfit change that consisted of a festive green lehenga and gold choli paired with a bright orange dupatta. A statement maang tikka accessorized her look along with jewellery from Arjun’s mom and grandmother while she kept her hair coiled in a messy bun.
Turkish Night
The Turkish Night witnessed Anisha painting the town red with a custom-made dress in a punchy red hue. Perfectly in sync with the theme, the hand-beaded gown with the detachable skirt flowed gracefully in the wind as she enjoyed the view of the riviera with her groom.
Wedding
For the wedding, everything just had to be perfect. After careful planning with Tarun Tahiliani’s team, she chose a stunning pale pink creation that embodied the spirit of the new-age Indian bride. Blending the classic lehenga silhouette with contemporary embellishments, the lehenga contrasted beautifully with the backdrop while looking right at home surrounded by the floral decor. On the jewellery front Anisha was just as picky as she chose a beautiful set that was a mix of emeralds, rose cut diamonds, pearls, and diamonds. – Tarun Tahiliani
Cocktail
Right after the wedding, the couple hosted a glitzy cocktail party where the bride walked in wearing a white and gold beaded dress with mirror work. With an asymmetrical skirt that gathered neatly around her waist, the outfit was complemented by minimalistic jewellery and a bun hairdo.
Reception
Covered in crystal beads that reflected the lights, Anisha’s reception outfit was a shoulder-less custom blush gown with a voluminous skirt. And, with multiple rounds on the dancefloor on the cards, she chose to keep her hair tied up in a bun and accessorized her look with a diamond necklace set and bracelets.
