Dubai-based Events & Marketing professional Karishma Lakhwani approached her wedding wardrobe the way she does her work – thoughtfully curated, audience-aware, and designed for impact without excess. For her celebrations with London-based Bhrat Daswani at Taj Mussoorie Foothills, Dehradun, she built a trousseau that responded to setting and ceremony, balancing Sindhi tradition with expressive colour, modern silhouettes, and event-specific styling.
Welcome Dinner & Laddas: Soft Beginnings
The opening celebration leaned into warmth and familiarity, with a neutral-toned setting that kept the focus on family rituals. Karishma chose a Payal & Zinal ensemble that felt easy yet polished with classic silhouettes, delicate detailing, and jewellery by Amama that added just enough sparkle without overwhelming the intimate mood.
Mehndi Carnival: Colour Takes Over
The mood shifted dramatically for the poolside Mehndi Carnival, designed as a burst of fun. Karishma embraced that energy in a lively Gazal Gupta ensemble filled with colour and movement, perfect for an afternoon meant for laughter, music, and candid moments. Jewellery from The Vintage Snob added a playful, eclectic finish that complemented the carnival-like setting.
Sangeet Night: Full Glamour
As the celebrations moved into the evening, the styling followed suit. For the Sangeet, Karishma wore Dolly J, choosing shimmer, structure, and drama that held its own against a glamorous, high-energy backdrop of performances and dancing.
Wedding: Classic with Presence
For the ceremony, Karishma returned to tradition in a Dolly J bridal lehenga that felt timeless but not predictable. Set against a mandap framed with florals and mountain views, the ensemble balanced rich craftsmanship with a silhouette that allowed her to move comfortably through the rituals.
