Megha Kapoor
Megha Kapoor’s elegant and classic style will give you all the bridalwear inspiration you have been looking for.
On trend florals, graphic designs, bright yellows, deep greens – Megha was the sum of her fashion choices at her wedding as she showed that variety is the spice of life.
How We Met
Aakar and I studied together at the Center For Management Studies in Bangalore and when we met at a friend’s party things seemed to kick off from there. A few months later, when we both moved to Australia for higher education, we fell in love. After we graduated, we headed back to India and Aakar proposed to me in Bangalore.
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
The mehndi, the first event of our wedding celebrations, took place by the pool of the JW Marriott Hotel Bengaluru. It was a colorful party. I wore a green Sabyasachi lehenga resplendent with floral motifs in orange and yellow. To match the outfit, my hairstylist adorned my braid with baby’s breath.”
Haldi
The haldi ceremony took place a day after the mehndi. I chose a bright yellow Aastha Narang lehenga for this function. Sequins formed checkered patterns on the full-sleeved blouse of the ensemble while the skirt was covered in floral patterns created with thread work. My hairstylist used baby’s breath to enhance my do again but this time we added yellow blooms to match the color of my outfit.
Wedding
I wore a golden Tarun Tahiliani creation for this special occasion. Not only was the color utterly exquisite but the complex embroidery and fine detailing made this piece truly timeless. My makeup was minimalistic and focused on creating a visage that looked like it glowed from within.
Reception
My father was in the army and so our reception took place at the Paratrooper Regiment Center. I wore a Falguni & Shane Peacock ensemble to this event. The jade green outfit featured a plunging illusion neckline and converging streaks of sparkling sequins. Since this was a powerful and glamorous look, my makeup artist created smokey eyes, nude lips, and a sleek ponytail to go with it.
Advice To Couples
“Have fun at your wedding but don’t stress out! Try not to compromise on your wants and wishes as far as possible!”
