A wedding arranged by parents unfolded into a beautiful love story for Mukta and Tarun who progressed from being total strangers to friends and now soul mates. They got married on November 29, 2011 in Mumbai in a Hindu wedding ceremony.
Mukta has a very keen sense of style and fashion. Though her wedding happened in Mumbai, she shopped all over India- Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai to name a few.
Fuschia Pink Patiala Salwar Suit for Wedding
Mukta got her fuschia pink wedding suit done from Kolkata. She says, “I went to Delhi, Lucknow and searched in Mumbai too but I could not see myself in any of the outfits I tried. I was a firm believer of the fact that when the right time will come, it will appear in front of me. And that’s exactly what happened when I visited Kolkata. I saw this raw silk fabric and immediately liked it. I did not want my kurti to be too heavy so kept the zardosi work on the bottom and arms and light embroidery around the neck giving a very sleek look.” She got her Patiala salwar done from Mumbai. She made the outfit pretty interesting by teaming it up with raw green mango color or kacchi kairi dupatta that added a lot of character. The dupatta again was not heavy. Mukta explains,” I did not want the dupatta to weigh me down so preferred to just have a pearl and sequins border and not too much of work in the entire expanse.” Since it was a day wedding, the makeup was kept natural.
Marwari Look for Reception
Though Mukta is Sindhi, she wanted a perfect Marwari look for the reception. “Red was nowhere in my mind. I was looking at other colors but nothing stood out. It was eventually this red lehenga that really stumped me when I tried it. The skirt was breathtaking. I got it customized by making the zari work more heavy and striking. Ojas Rajani did my makeup. I was sure I did not want the dupatta on my head. She did my hair beautifully to create a nice balance of formal and casual”, says Mukta. To complement the attire, she wore stunning kundan jewellery which her mother bought for her.
