Wedding Planning
“Ever since we zeroed in on a wedding date I’ve been an avid follower of WeddingSutra’s Instagram page. I also had a beautiful bridal makeover at ‘WeddingSutra On Location‘, which was a brilliant opportunity to meet some of the top-notch professionals in this field. We came across our wedding photographer Picsurely from one of the photoshoots they had done for WeddingSutra. Kamakshi Soni took care of my hair and makeup for all of my functions in Udaipur. I wanted looks that would suit my face and weren’t over the top, and she achieve this effortlessly. For my reception in Kolkata, Abhijit Chanda gave me a no-makeup look which I loved. Tanya Dhillon was my makeup artist for my reception in Mumbai, and she did a good job of following the brief I gave her.”
Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
“Our wedding festivities began with relaxed welcome dinner through which we wanted to ease our guests into the mood of the celebrations. Owing to the fuss-free vibe of this event, I chose to wear a light printed lehenga which I paired with a short, bright pink kurta. For this function, I let my hair down and went with minimalistic makeup.”
Mehndi
“The mehndi next morning was a very colorful affair with an unmissable quirky feel to it. For this, I decided to go with a very contemporary yellow outfit from Kalki Fashion in Mumbai. The ensemble included a heavily embellished crop top with dhoti pants and a sheer cape with a sprinkle of tiny motifs. I pulled my hair back into a loose braid for this look and adorned it with fresh baby’s breath blooms.”
Sangeet
“A pink lehenga by Nadine Dhody was my choice for the sangeet. The voluminous skirt was smothered in sequins and 3D floral details while the blouse featured a mix of pearls and sequins and had a fringed hem. The light color and work on this outfit gave it a very delicate look and made me feel like a princess! I teamed this with a diamond necklace and a half-up-half-down hairdo.”
Haldi
“Yellow makes for the most appropriate hue for the haldi ceremony, and I decided to stick to the norm by wearing a bright yellow saree with a pink, green, and blue border and a fuschia blouse from Nalli Silks. I completed this vibrant look with floral jewellery and a sleek updo.”
Wedding
“There is no other color that feels as bridal as red, so to truly feel like I was getting married, I knew I had to wear this shade on my big day! I chose a beautiful lehenga which came with two dupattas from Vasansi Jaipur. My makeup for the ceremony was all about flawless skin, and a red pout. Pieces of exquisite gold jewellery were paired with my ensemble, and with that, I achieved the bridal look I had always dreamed of.”
Reception (Udaipur)
“After dressing up in Indian wear for every function, I decided to go with a Western attire for our reception in Udaipur. It was a light pink gown with silver embroidery from Pratap Sons Jaipur that won my heart the minute I saw it. I felt it made for the perfect outfit for the final event. A dazzling diamond necklace and a pair of long earrings completed my look for the night.”
Reception (Kolkata)
“I had a very feminine getup in mind for our Kolkata reception. A powder blue lehenga from Kalki made for the perfect pick for this event. A heavy kundan choker set added to the beauty of the ensemble, and a dewy makeup look with soft ringlets were perfect additions to this look.”
Reception (Mumbai)
“My look for the Mumbai reception was inspired by Anushka Sharma and Deepika Padukone’s looks at their respective receptions. A red and gold saree from Nalli Silks was my pick for this function, and I teamed this with an updo adorned with a floral garland called ‘gajra.’ I thought that this was such a timeless and elegant look and was compelled to recreate this for my wedding.”
