Preeti Choudhary
This bride designed her own outfits and locally sourced her materials to create an array of spectacular looks for her wedding.
Making the most of the golden opportunity, bride Preeti Choudhary, a finance professional, expressed her creative flair for the world to see in a series of stunning bridal looks curated by herself. Spanning over multiple hues, each outfit from her plush wedding celebrations highlighted her personal style and was planned well in advance, thanks to her superior foresight and creativity.
Wedding Planning
With meticulous accuracy, Preeti had complete clarity on her wardrobe choices as she chose to design her mehndi, sangeet, haldi, and reception looks herself. However, she did have a stellar team to fall back on who efficiently guided her through each ceremony. Preet Duggal from Geeya Boutique brought each of Preeti’s designs to life and the bride couldn’t be happier. She shares, “Even though the designs were given by me, Preet did a fantastic job in bringing my vision to life. She is unbeatable at her work and is super talented.”
Taking charge of planning her wardrobe, Preeti also turned to the world of internet and print to find inspiration. She goes on to share, “I referred to a lot of bridal magazines and being an avid follower of WeddingSutra on Instagram, there was no dearth of ideas there, which favorably helped me choose the ideal colors to don on for different functions.”
On the makeup front, makeup artist Maushami Dhawan and artists from Rupa The Salon worked their magic on Preeti with looks that coordinated brilliantly with her outfits. The photography team at The Bride’s Diary also used their skill behind the lens to click some truly expressive shots that captured the essence of Preeti’s personality.
Wedding Functions
Engagement
For her engagement, the bride showed off her love for the traditional Indian weaves by pairing her simple silk bottle green lehenga set with a bright orange silk zari dupatta that had hints of blue, red and purple on it to add a pop of color. Complementing her light gold and pearl jewelry, her makeup was kept natural with her bright pink pout adding a glow to her complexion.
Mehndi
Keeping the comfort levels high for her bridal mehndi, Preeti opted for fuchsia-hued floral jewelry which teamed well with her intricately embroidered green and pink lehenga. A half-up hairdo added a touch of dreamy feminine charm to the entire look.
Sangeet
Choosing a cool mint green gown with silver embroidery, Preeti amped up the glamour stakes at her sangeet. Paired with delicate floral silver jewelry and a light green eyeliner that highlighted her honey brown eyes, this look ticked all the right boxes with its fresh yet glitzy vibe.
Wedding
For her big day, Preeti pulled all stops and went the traditional way with her gold and ruby red lehenga. Replete with floral motifs and a minimalistic dupatta, her bridal outfit had equal parts of old school and modern glamour. Accessorizing her look were heavy gold and green necklaces along with golden kaleerein that delicately hung from her wrists. For her makeup, the bride chose subtle gold smokey eyes inspired by the iconic Deepika Padukone.
Reception
Following a distinctive western theme, Preeti chose a magnificent ash and beige colored gown with sheer full sleeves and silver floral embroidery. Her makeup also echoed the colors on the dress with its glittery grey-toned smokey eyes that tied the entire look together. For her hairstyle, Preeti chose the classic side-swept hairdo with cascading curls that rested on her shoulder. The jewelry was kept at a minimum with a diamond choker and ring that complemented the cool tones on her dress.
Advice for brides-to-be
Preeti shares, “I would highly recommend hiring a good photographer who knows all your good angles. The right photographer will not only give you beautiful pictures but will also establish a strong comfort level with you and enable you to express yourself freely in front of the lens.”
