Priya Narwani and Suraj Laugani live in Singapore. She is a Brand Consultant at a brand strategy consulting firm and Suraj is a Senior Sales Development Manager & Head of IT Systems in an FMCG firm.

How We Met
“One evening at a friend’s surprise birthday party, I noticed Suraj and I immediately knew he was new to Singapore. I had been living in Singapore for a long time so I was well acquainted with the Sindhis and social circles here and I was quite certain he was a new kid on the block. A mutual friend introduced us, and during our conversation, we realized we actually had a lot in common. Knowing that there was an immediate spark, both of us pursued the possibility of a future together.”
The Wedding
The wedding took place in Bali at the exotic Pan Pacific Nirwana Bali Resort. The theme of the wedding was The Elements of Love. In keeping with the theme, four different functions were themed Fire, Water, Earth, Air individually”
Bridal Makeup Artist – Ojas Rajani, Mumbai
Ojas is a makeup magician. She made me look and feel like a goddess during my wedding. Her looks for each of my functions were so different and simply amazing to the point that some of my friends even commented that I looked like an Egyptian Goddess at my Mehndi/Sagri.
Welcome Dinner
For the Welcome Dinner, Ojas gave me a relaxed look as it was meant to be a casual, open-air dinner to welcome guests on the first day in Bali. The dinner was themed ‘Fire’ and I chose to wear a bright red gown designed by a local designer in Singapore.
Youngster’s Party
The Youngster’s party was themed ‘Rockstars- Leather & Lace’. For this, Ojas gave me a very edgy rock-chick look that went perfect with the theme as well as my edgy outfit. My dress was designed by Mumbai designer, Kanika Mehra. She knew exactly how to put together the studs and lace elements in my dress perfectly.
Sagri & Mehndi
The Sagri & Mehndi was a poolside fiesta and obviously it was themed ‘Water’. For this I found a gorgeous ready-made sari by Tarun Tahiliani. The colours just popped and made me look like a goddess. Ojas gave me an innocent, day time look that got me many compliments. It was my favorite look of all the functions.
Sangeet, Wedding and Reception
My Sangeet was themed ‘Earth’ and I knew that I wanted a mint green outfit for sure. I fell in love with a mint green lengha designed by Arjun & Anjalee Kapoor that I saw in their flagship store in Delhi. In fact, I was so in love with Arjun & Anjalee’s designs that I let them design my Wedding lehenga without even choosing the design. I left it all to them because I knew they would design something completely perfect for me. I’m not an over-the-top bride and I knew from the beginning that I did not want to look like an overdressed Christmas tree or wear a traditional red lehenga as most brides do on their wedding days. I always wanted an element of the colour blue in my wedding outfit and Arjun & Anjalee made it happen. For the wedding, they designed a hot pink and blue lengha for the modern bride look I always wanted.
For the Reception themed ‘Air’, I wore a gorgeous gold gown designed by Delhi designer, Mandira Wirk.
