Everyone wants to know what a bride will wear at her wedding; which colors will she pick, what labels and designers will find their way into her trousseau and how she will pair clothes to bling. Bride Zinal, who is one of Vadodara’s most well-known fashion designers, pulled out all the stops when it came to designing her gorgeous wedding trousseau. How They Met
Zinal and Aditya developed a very strong friendship in school but could never confess their feelings to each other. Soon after school ended, they thought that was it! However, as it turned out, it was only the beginning of their love story. Although Zinal had to move to Pune for further studies, they decided to keep their relationship alive despite the distance, and seven years later the big day finally arrived.
Wedding Planning
Zinal began planning their wedding a year in advance to make sure everything went smoothly. Be it the invitation cards, the mandap, or other details, she was very clear about how she wanted things to be. Along with their invites, she also sent a shade card to close relatives and friends to help them pick their outfits as per the color scheme of each function. Most of the outfits for the family were also designed by the bride under her label. Photographing their wedding was Team Oragraphy who impressed the bride with their attention to detail and flair for clicking captivating pictures. The gorgeous pictures are proof of the team’s creativity and skills.
Wedding Functions
Engagement
For the engagement ceremony, the bride wore an embellished purple sharara and accessorized it with a pair of silver earrings and a chaandbali style maang tikka.
Mehndi
Zinal’s first wedding look fused Western and Indian aesthetics to create a quirky green saree style Indo-Western outfit that was paired with a white shirt and had ‘aazi’ written across the length of the fabric. She matched the blue hue of the text with a sparkling waistband in the same color and finished her contemporary look with a pair of chunky gold earrings.
Sangeet
The same evening, Zinal made her appearance in a beautiful self-designed co-ordinated ensemble. The skirt and the blouse featured graphic patterns created using golden threads as well as matte and glossy sequins in the same color. The outfit exuded an undeniable feminine appeal and went perfectly with her cocktail ring and long earrings. She created a stylish embellished suit for Aditya, who as a true Shah Rukh Khan fan, entered mimicking the star’s style and gave a 23-minute performance on his songs with Zinal by his side.
Haldi
At her haldi ceremony, she went with a yellow outfit with a halter-style neck, and the look was completed with a pair of diamond earrings.Dressed in a red mothda print saree with a golden border, Zinal was a picture of elegance at Aditya’s haldi ceremony. She wore the drape along with a traditional choker in a contrasting shade of green, matching earrings and a set of bangles for Aditya’s haldi,.
Wedding
Zinal has been actively working on her project that aims to break gender stereotypes, and a small glimpse of her beliefs could be seen in her and Aditya’s wedding outfits. As an extension of her initiative, she chose a pastel blue lehenga for herself, and a picked a pastel pink sherwani for Aditya. Geometric and floral patterns were given form with the help of tone-on-tone sequins work, which imparted youthfulness to her attire. Their choice of clothes also matches the organic looking setup created using branches and flowers.
