Empire Waist Trend - a blessing for women

This season's empire waist trend has been a blessing to women of all shapes. Its flattering and flirty; and everyone's wearing it.

What is Empire Waist?
An empire waist is a waistline which falls far above the natural waistline. Generally, the dress or top is cut so that the waistline is directly below the bust, allowing the rest of the garment to float over the bottom half of the body.

Who looks good in this silhouette?

For women with minimal curves, an empire waist can create the illusion of a fuller body. Women with heavier and pear shaped figures can also look excellent in an empire waist dress since the waistline is located above the midsection and the dress can camouflage a bulging tummy area and a wide rear and hips. The garment can also be cut to emphasize the bust, with sleeves in varying lengths to expose or cover the arms, as desired.

Empire hits Bollywood
From Bipasha Basu to Urmila Matondkar - leading ladies of Bollywood and television have been spotted sporting this trend.
