Sujata Assomull married Jaideep Sippy at the Regal Room, Trident
Mumbai on 28th May. The wedding of the Editor of Harper’s Bazaar and
Luxury Expert Jaideep was truly a Luxurious affair, with elements from
the best names in luxury weddings— rich yet understated ensembles by
Tahiliani and JJ Valaya, exquisite diamond jewellery by Neelam Kothari
and a stunning, modern ambience created by the queen of wedding decor,
Gurlein Puri..
Wedding Functions
The pre-wedding functions included a welcome party at Royal China and
the Blue Frog. The mehendi was at Sujata’s parent’s home in Bakhtawar,
Nepean Sea Road and the sangeet at the Mayfair Rooms. The theme for
the wedding at Trident was Orange and Red; the colors at the ‘Modern
India’ theme reception were Beige and White, with a hint of Purple;
this was the color of Sujata’s saree too. And the invitation cards by
Green Goose Design Studio were in the same color too.

Wedding Wear
For the welcome party Sujata wore an Oscar de la Renta cocktail dress.
She teamed this with an ornate heirloom choker from the famous Bapalal
Keshavlal jewellers. For the mehendi and the sangeet she wore
creations from Kolkata’s Anamika Khanna. Her red wedding lehenga and
beige reception saree were designed by the King of couture, Tarun
Tahiliani. This she wore with diamond jewellery designed by her friend
Neelam Kothari. For the sangeet and the wedding, Jaideep wore
creations by JJ Valaya.His jacket for the welcome party was designed by Hemant Sagar (Brand:
Lecoanet Hemant) and for the reception he wore a Lanvin tuxedo.

New Home and Style Kitchen
Sujata and Jaideep have set up their new home in Delhi. Jaideep's
parents live in Mumbai and Sujata's parents in Dubai and London.
Sujata studied in United Kingdom and came to India to begin a career
in Fashion Journalism, almost 15 years ago. Prior to Harper’s Bazaar
she worked as a journalist and Fashion Stylist and later in Marketing
Communication with luxury houses which marketed brands like Gucci and
Jimmy Choo. Jaideep, schooled in Ooty & Mumbai and graduated from the
Nottingham Business School; he worked with a Mauritius Hotel and later
helped setup Louis Vuitton and Gucci in India. His last stint was with
BJETS, a private aviation company. After ten years he is back to his
first love—Food & Hospitality. He is now launching The Style Kitchen
that will soon offer a line of Health Foods through many retail
outlets.
