A wedding, an ancestral land, and a dream come true

When planning their wedding Gayathri and Aditya knew two things for sure. One, they wanted the celebration to be held at Gayathri’s ancestral land in Hyderabad and second, they wanted WeddingSutra Favorite – The Doli Diary to helm the planning and execution. The six-month process saw the planning team transform the plot and bring alive a greenhouse-like structure where a sunlit wedding could be held.

Wedding Planning
Jinal Patel and Neha Wadhawan of The Doli Diary say, “Gayatri wanted to get married on her ancestral land. Now this was a 9.5 acre ancestral farm land with no pathway for cars even. And we had just six months to pull this off. We brought on board a landscape architect and then eventually built a glass house which could house the 800 people attending the celebrations!”

The Wedding
The result was stunning. The wedding unfolded like a sunlit garden under glass, bright, refined and quietly elegant.
In a greenhouse-style venue, hydrangeas, roses and climbing foliage traced the architecture, suspended from above, winding up columns and gathered as garden pockets below. Immersive in scale, thoughtful in detail.

This was a contemporary-led interpretation of a garden ceremony, where the glasshouse allowed light to play with height and structure, from hanging botanicals overhead to layered greens at eye level. A modern take on nature within walls of glass. Pastel blooms, layered greens, and delicate climbers created an atmosphere that was immersive yet refined—grand in vision, intimate in every detail. Sunlit seating, softened walkways, and pastel textures came together in a serene, botanical symphony.
