Kushangi and Kush, Ahmedabad, Gujarat
Flower power was the dominant theme at Kushani and Kush’s grand Ahmedabad wedding, from the vibrant decor to the blooming motifs on the duo’s wedding ensembles and even the bride’s hair accessories.
Watching their daughter walk down the aisle is an emotional experience for every parent. When it was time for Kushangi to get married, her father made sure that nothing came in the way when it came to pulling off a fairytale wedding. Preach Art captured the special moments of this Ahmedabad nuptials and bride Kushangi shares some highlights here.
How We Met
Kushangi and Kush met through family and friends. In their wedding video Kush shares, “It’s hard to believe how fast a year has gone by since the time that Kush and I first met!” They clicked on their initial meeting, and from there on, there was no looking back. An emotional Kush adds, “I don’t know what the future holds, but I am sure that getting married to Kush is the best thing that has ever happened to me.”
Wedding Planning
The wedding was planned by Purva Shah Patel, and its celebratory moments were captured by Preach Art. Khushangi loves floral decor, so the wedding venues were resplendent with hundreds of blooms crafted into stunning arrangements such as floral chandeliers and garlands. “Red, peach and white flowers formed the color scheme of our wedding decor. Everything was beautiful and so well managed, thanks to my dad. I feel like I did have a fairytale wedding!”
Wedding Functions
Mehndi
Kushangi wore a yellow lehenga with a gold border and matching motifs for her mehendi function. She paired this ensemble with an olive green dupatta with dull gold circular motifs for a festive look. She also donned a floral tiara which looked charming at this daytime outdoor event.
Sangeet
The sangeet was held at a private farm in Ahmedabad. Loved ones performed choreographed dances which delighted the gathering. Kushangi wore a gorgeous white lehenga with a broad golden hem that featured intricately embroidered flowers in red and pink on the skirt and the blouse. The outfit was paired with a baby pink net dupatta, and Kushangi opted for an updo when it came to her hairstyle for this event. Kush wore a pink sherwani with white trousers that coordinated well with Khushangi’s outfit.
Wedding
For their wedding at Blue Lagoon in Ahmedabad, Kushangi was a traditional Gujarati bride in a red and white lehenga with floral motifs, with stunning jewellery that included an ornate ‘matha patti’ (head ornament) and ‘maang tikka’ (forehead ornament). One special element of the wedding decor was the use of ‘kaliras’ (silver or gold umbrella-shaped embellished ornaments that are attached to a bride’s bridal bangles) alongside the flowers. “I had always wanted to wear kaliras at my wedding. However, my mother didn’t agree with the idea since we are Gujaratis. So my father, to fulfill my wish while respecting my mother’s view, told decorators to install as many kaliras as possible in the decorations! It was more than I could ever ask for!” shares Kushangi. Kush opted for a beige sherwani with a vibrant floral print, and a green stole with a matching turban.
Reception
Kushangi looked elegant in a glittering champagne anarkali at her reception which she paired with dazzling diamond jewellery and a pale rose pink dupatta. She pinned bright pink roses to her updo to finish the look. Kush wore a sharply-tailored black tuxedo with a crisp white shirt and a patterned inner jacket and matching bow tie.
