A wedding that moved seamlessly between celestial themes and royal-Bridgerton like aesthetics.
When Sakshi Katta, an interior designer, and Gagan Gupta, who is in the gems and jewelry business, tied the knot, they wanted a celebration that was whimsical, yet elegant. Starting with a space-themed ring ceremony to a Bridgerton-esque aesthetic for the pheres, each function had its own unique vibe, beautifully planned and curated by WeddingSutra Favorite – Shree Kunj Events.
Wedding Planning
Bhavya Chitlangiya and Hemankk Goyal of Shree Kunj Events say, “The couple wanted a decor theme that felt elegant, something that was new and fresh, and slightly whimsical and a different vibe for all four events. So, we went with a concert mood for the sangeet, a sundowner for the carnival, a more traditional Benaras Ghat theme for the Reception and royal vibes for the pheres.”
Wedding Functions
Sangeet
The sangeet night had a concert mood with celestial space vibes. With a color palette of black, blue and purple, the whole venue was transformed into a space masquerade of sorts with the stage emitting a very cosmic intergalactic vibe. The family performances lit up the evening.
Carnival
The carnival was a sundowner and the décor sported fringes, tassels, shades of blue and beige and exotic flowers. It was almost like stepping into a Moroccan Disney castle. With perfume making, lipstick making, candle making and bracelet making stations, guests had a lot to indulge in.
Reception and Pheres
The Reception evening was traditional, rooted in India. The idea was to recreate the spiritual feeling of being on the Ghats of Benares and witnessing a Ganga aarti. The pheres followed a tradition look with a Roman classical touch. With a very floral palette, the idea was to create the a Bridgerton-like aesthetic.
