Mansi and Aditya, The Peninsula Bangkok, Thailand

Hosted by Bangkok’s riverside, this couple’s destination wedding combined aesthetics, warmth and lively moments into an unforgettable celebration of love.

For Mansi and Aditya, Thailand was far more than just a wedding destination. It was a city layered with memories, familiarity and meaning. Having taken one of their first trips together there, and with both of them growing up across Southeast Asia, the Thai capital felt like the perfect middle ground to bring their worlds together. Planned with warmth and precision by WeddingSutra Favorite – Mpire Weddings, the celebrations unfolded at the riverside elegance of The Peninsula Bangkok, whose lush outdoor spaces and sweeping Chao Phraya River views created a breathtaking setting for the couple’s intimate 250-guest wedding.”

Wedding Planning
The couple entrusted Mpire Weddings with bringing their vision to life, and the experience proved to be seamless from start to finish. “Everyone from the whole team was incredible. They really knew what they were doing and were always on top of everything. It felt very familial and easy,” says the bride. The planners ensured every celebration flowed effortlessly while balancing intimacy with high-energy moments, resulting in a wedding that felt deeply personal yet impeccably executed.

Wedding Venue
Set along the banks of the Chao Phraya River in Thailand, The Peninsula Bangkok offered the couple the perfect blend of cosmopolitan energy and serene riverside beauty. The property’s outdoor venues allowed two of the celebrations to unfold under the open sky, overlooking the glittering waterfront. From sunlit ceremonies to breezy evening festivities, the setting transformed beautifully through the course of the celebrations. “The river area really comes to life both during the day and at night,” recalls Mansi. “And we completely lucked out with the weather. It was around 17 or 18 degrees in the evening, which felt incredible.”

Wedding Functions
Welcome Dinner
The celebrations opened with a lively welcome dinner that immediately set the tone for the festivities ahead. Planned at the last minute but turning out to be one of the most memorable evenings, the event brimmed with energy, laughter and music. A striking electric violin duo, recommended by the planners, kept the crowd enthralled with upbeat renditions of familiar songs that had guests singing along almost instantly. The atmosphere was chic yet relaxed, allowing friends and family from across the world to reconnect and ease into the wedding celebrations. “They completely hyped up the crowd and started the party off on the perfect note,” shares the bride.

Mehndi and Sangeet
Designed as a combined celebration, the Mehndi and Sangeet reflected the couple’s desire to keep the wedding compact, intimate and true to their personalities. Hosted largely outdoors, the evening leaned into a relaxed and spirited atmosphere rather than an over-the-top performance spectacle. Vibrant decor details, mood lighting and lively entertainment brought the celebration alive while still retaining an understated elegance. Guests enjoyed heartfelt dance performances by close friends and family, creating moments that felt joyous and deeply personal. “We wanted something chilled out rather than an IIFA awards-style Sangeet because that just isn’t us as a couple,” says Mansi. “But having our loved ones perform still made it feel incredibly special.”

Haldi
Bursting with warmth and cheer, the Haldi embraced a vibrant palette of yellow and orange. Marigold blooms cascaded across the venue while brass accents lent the decor a touch of traditional charm. The intimate daytime celebration felt playful and sun-soaked, with laughter, music and candid moments filling the air. The floral styling struck the perfect balance between festive exuberance and refined elegance.

Wedding
The wedding ceremony unfolded like a dream beneath the soft daylight sky. Ethereal and serene in mood, the decor embraced an elegant palette of ivory, pastel pink and lush green foliage. The mandap stood delicately adorned with florals that appeared almost weightless against the natural backdrop, while a pristine white aisle strewn with flower petals created a magical pathway for the bride’s entrance. Every detail reflected timeless sophistication, allowing the beauty of the setting and the emotion of the ceremony to take centre stage.

Reception
For the reception, the celebrations transitioned into a moodier and more glamorous aesthetic. Rich bottle green drapes framed the venue while white blooms, flickering pillar candles and ornate chandeliers added depth and drama to the space. The evening carried an old-world elegance, with the candlelit setting creating an atmosphere that felt both intimate and grand. Guests celebrated late into the night surrounded by refined decor, heartfelt speeches and an unmistakable sense of joy.
