Reshu and Ashish, Malaysia
With rich Chinese décor, dragons, fire performers and traditional dancers, the ‘Temple of Shaolin’ themed party at this wedding left the guests awestruck.
Reshu and Ashish celebrated a whirlwind romance and their promise of a new life together with a 3-day long non-stop extravaganza with their loved ones amidst the beguiling coastal beauty and rich culture of Malaysia. Their vibrant festivities were captured in gorgeous frames by WeddingSutra Favorite – VS Studio.
How they met
Reshu and Ashish crossed paths; thanks to being gently nudged by their parents, who knew they would click. Despite not being very keen on being setup, they were amazed at the instant connection and comfort they felt with each other. Soon, they knew they had found the one, and didn’t want to wait to start their life with each other.

Wedding Functions
Yacht Party
The celebrations started with a welcome party atop a yacht for family and friends of both sides to unwind, mingle and get to know each other.
Shaolin Night
The first night saw a stunning extravaganza themed around the Temple of Shaolin. Red rice paper lanterns, Chinese dragons, traditional dancers, fire performers and more, made the night unforgettable for everyone. The event was anchored by Deepti Sadhwani while Sunny boys had everyone grooving to their beats.
Beach Party
The next day began with a colorful beach party evocative of a carnival,
where guests were treated to fun water activities, traditional dancers and musical entertainment by DJ Deepster and Amit Nayak. The bride stole the show in a statement red ruffled dress by Payal and Zinal.
Sangeet
The Sangeet function was a cornucopia of decadence and merriment. Crystal, flowers and rich hues ruled the décor, setting an opulent ambience. The bride shone in an intricately crafted blue and gold lehenga by Jade by MK, while the groom looked dapper in asymmetrical Bandhgala ensemble by Sarab Khanijou. The dazzling evening of family performances was followed by Anushka Manchanda’s electrifying performance.
After Party
The festivities were followed by a rocking Youngster’s Night and Gangster’s Night simultaneously. The families and guests enjoyed the scintillating performances by the famous Rutth Lawrence who made the night memorable with her graceful moves.
Pool Party
The final day began with traditional morning rituals of Bhaat and Telbaan held by the poolside, followed by a spirited Tomatina festival. The revelries saw vibrant décor, and everyone spent the day having fun in the pool and playing with tomatoes.
Wedding
The Baraat procession kicked off the festivities with more than 3 hours of dancing and merriment, with the groom arriving in his dreamy entry on a vintage convertible. Entering with traditional Malay dancers, the Sabyasachi bride looked breathtaking in a shimmering blush lehenga. The couple exchanged varmalas against a stunning display of cold pyro and fireworks. The décor borrowed elements from local culture, while the mandap was a vision in white and red. Flautist Sujeet was specially flown in from India to mesmerize the guests with his enchanting traditional tunes.
Advice for couples
“Try and plan everything as soon as you can, without leaving much for the end, so when the time comes, you can focus on enjoying instead of being caught up in logistics. It’s a once in a lifetime experience, so make every moment count.”
