Himoni Shah – JADE

As part of our initiative WeddingSutra On Location, we invited four brides-to-be for a unique experience at the exclusive JADE Couture Studio, Lower Parel, Mumbai, the brainchild of designer duo Monica & Karishma. Starting with a Style Consultation, followed by a Makeover and culminating in a professional Photo Shoot, each bride-to-be had the opportunity to interact with some of the best names in Bridal and Wedding services.

Here, in the third of the four-part series, bride-to-be Himoni Shah tells us about her experience with WeddingSutra on Location at the JADE Studio.

“No matter how hard I try, I won’t be able to express in words what an incredible experience I had with ‘WeddingSutra on Location’.

I was surfing, looking for bridal trends when I came across a few blogs on the WeddingSutra website. WeddingSutra on Location stood out and I really wished I would be chosen. I chanced it and sent them an email with my details. A week later, I received a confirmation saying I had been selected for their next shoot at JADE! I was so happy!

I was very excited when I arrived at the beautiful JADE Couture Studio in Lower Parel. The day began with a warm welcome from Team WeddingSutra. The first task was to select an outfit. We went through all the outstanding bridal wear by Monica and Kasirhma. It was difficult to make a decision, every piece was so elegant and pretty. Ultimately, with the help of Team WeddingSutra, I chose a luscious bottle green, heavily embroidered lehenga, woven in pure silk with resham work. This regal outfit is from “The Tribal Princess Collection”, and was teamed with a marvelous golden blouse and white dupatta. The fit was perfect and the outfit looked like it was made for royalty.

Next it was hair and make-up time. I hardly use make-up so I wasn’t sure about how I’d look. Then I met Ojas Rajani who instantly made me feel so comfortable. After she was done with her magic, I was stunned! Glamorous and bold! The way she highlighted my cheekbones, worked the smokey eye make-up, it made me look like a ramp model. My hair was styled into soft, stylish curls. I was ecstatic with the final look.

All dolled up, it was finally time for the photo-shoot with Shreya Sen. She is super creative and excellent at her job. Not only a beautiful bride, I felt like a celebrity while she took some amazing candid and posed pictures of me all around the store. She brought out the best in me and as a bonus we ended up with some fantastic group shots of all the four brides together.

To sum it up, from hair to make-up to my wedding outfit, I now have complete clarity about suits me best. It is four weeks to my wedding and amidst all the preparation chaos, this happened at the perfect time. I’m so glad to have had such a memorable and unforgettable experience. Himoni’s Look

Ojas decided to enhance Himoni’s chiseled face and add oomph to her bridal look. Ojas began by creating a base with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Skin Cover Foundation in Beige honey on her face. She then set the base with the Lakmé Absolute White Intense Wet and Dry Compact in Beige Honey. Ojas decided add drama to Himoni’s eyes with the Lakmé Absolute Eye Color Illusion Pearl Shadow in Peach Pearl as the base and the Black Pearl shade on the corner of her eyes to give a smokey look with a hint of space grey instead of black. For a winged eye look, Ojas used the Lakmé Absolute Kohl Ultimate on the corners of her eyes and just below the waterline. She then added a few coats of the Lakmé Absolute Flutter Secrets Dramatic Eyes Mascara to her lashes. Ojas brushed on a the Lakmé Absolute Face Stylist Blush Duos in Coral Blush shade on her cheeks. For her lips, Ojas used a pop shade of Coral Flare from the newest range of Lakmé Absolute Scult Studio Hi Definition Matte Lipstick. Finally Alisha’s hair was styled with tight and teased curls with middle parting.
