Maxima Basu
Celebrity Costume Designer
Celebrity Costume Designer Maxima Basu got married to her handsome beau Prashant in an intimate Hindu wedding ceremony held in Kanpur last year. The beautiful couple met on a film set, where Prashant worked as an Art Assistant and quickly developed a fondness for each other. After enjoying deep conversations and spending ample time together, the couple finally decided to tie the knot in the most jovial fervor.
Since Maxima is a costume designer, she wanted to choose something exquisite that also defined her artistic aesthetics. For the couple shoot, she wanted to celebrate her Bengali lineage and chose to wear a quintessential red Banarasi sari with statement jewellery comprising of a gold and white maang tikka and a stunning nose ring which helped in completing the overall Bengali look
Maxima is a lover of vintage fabrics and antiques; her wedding trousseau was made using old antique fabrics with a real silver Gotapatti work and a matching blouse which had parrot motifs woven on it. She wanted to retain the emotional element of her ensemble and chose to wear Prashant’s mother’s wedding dupatta as a ghoonghat for the wedding ceremony. The antique gold statement jewellery coupled with minimal makeup helped in retaining the vintage bridal look perfectly.
